Here’s to TBS; hoping that next year just like PopTv this year they manage to breakthrough with Search Party.July 16, 2019 at 12:17 pm #1202979018
It was just last year that Claire Foy won over Elisabeth Moss and Bill Hader won over Donald Glover. Phoebe Waller-Bridge might very well win over Julia Louis-Dreyfus.July 16, 2019 at 12:09 pm #1202978985
Prepare to predict big things for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s new comedy RUN, this time on HBO.July 16, 2019 at 11:49 am #1202978904
Mike Barker continues to miss for The Handmaid’s Tale. I’m pretty sure that same will happen again when Dearbhla Walsh will be the only one nominated from this show for the episode “Household”.July 16, 2019 at 11:40 am #1202978868
Homecoming, Julia Roberts, Richard Madden, Keeley Hawes, Emma Stone, Veep in directing, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in writing, Pose in writing and directing (especially for Ryan Murphy), Tituss Burgess, D’Arcy Carden, Pamela Adlon, Eliza Scanlen, GLOW, Alison Brie.
These weren’t predicted but also hurt me: The Haunting of Hill House (in general), Forever (in general), Sharp Objects in directing, Homecoming in directing, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Joan Collins, Andrew Scott, Bodyguard in directing, Maniac in technical categories, The OA (in general).July 16, 2019 at 11:28 am #1202978795
What is winning comedy series? Veep missed directing and incredibly underperformed compared to its previous runs. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel missed writing when something like Pen15 can receive a nomination, though it has 20 nominations. Then, I remember what happened to Atlanta last year. Russian Doll missed directing, despite two writing nominations. It’s only Barry and Fleabag that managed to hit both directing and writing. It should be Fleabag, but I feel like it will be Barry.July 16, 2019 at 11:20 am #1202978744
I’m glad that The Kominsky Method did not happen in comedy series lineup. It would have been a crime especially when you have something like Fleabag.July 16, 2019 at 10:39 am #1202978511
This must win outstanding choreography:
Series: When They See Us
Lead Actor: Jharrel Jerome
Lead Actress: Michellle Williams
Supporting Actor: Paul Dano
Supporting Actress: Patricia ArquetteJuly 16, 2019 at 10:03 am #1202978301
I doubt that we will ever see a platform attempting a “half-hour drama” again.July 16, 2019 at 9:16 am #1202977896
I’m glad that game is over for NatGeo.July 16, 2019 at 9:14 am #1202977871
The Haunting of Hill House has ZERO nominations. Netflix just wasted a major contender.
Directing lineup is beyond terrible with the omission of Jean Marc Vallee and Mike Flanagan.
I knew George Clooney would not make the cut but wasn’t sure who would replace him.
When They See Us is winning.July 16, 2019 at 9:09 am #1202977812
I was literally on my edge yesterday for that episode of Killing Eve in my directing lineup?! I should have predicted it.
Btw, these drama nominations are a mess. Bodyguard is nominated for Drama Series and Writing but not for Lead Actor & Supporting Actress?!
Homecoming deserved way better than this. Poor Amazon, they do amazing in comedy but can’t seem to breakthrough for drama.
Succession has zero acting nominations. It has now solidified its place as the drama equivalent of Silicon Valley.
At least Pose managed to sneak in drama series lineup.July 16, 2019 at 8:53 am #1202977612
I’m loving all these Fleabag nominations!!
