Bradley Jackson reporting for GoldDerby: Thomas Newman is indeed finally winning the Oscar for this.November 26, 2019 at 11:52 pm #1203205455
Keep on the stan wars! It’s so entertaining. Dern vs Lopez until Johansson gets 2 Globe nods and ends up winning supporting simply because she’s better than Lopez and actually does something unlike Dern.November 24, 2019 at 1:00 am #1203199757
Dern and Lopez aren’t fighting for anything rofl. It’s Johansson’s. You’ll see. She’s at least winning Globe or/and SAG.November 19, 2019 at 6:10 am #1203186604
I forgot: Driver is winning Best Actor, no matter how precursors go.November 19, 2019 at 3:55 am #1203186356
I’ve got fresh scoop y’all! It was irresponsible of me before to say something inaccurate on Theron’s work in Bombshell, but it turns out she actually delivers an undeniable performance that will win her her 2nd Best Actress statuette. According to my sources within the HFPA, she is winning the Drama Globe. But you know what’s the shocking part here? HFPA is DENYING Dern the Supporting Actress Globe. HFPA is gonna split it! They’ll give the rightful winner the Best Actress Globe but they’re giving Supporting to Johansson for Jojo Rabbit. She’s receiving two nominations, with a total of 6 Golden Globe nominations for film, establishing overdue status for a Golden Globe award win. And then, y’all know how it goes. Johansson is winning Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars for having 2 equally acclaimed roles in 2 Best Picture contenders.
You heard it here first!

Babes, I’m loving how Reese so casually outacts the rest of the cast. A+ acting and episode.November 16, 2019 at 12:58 pm #1203182283
Sadly, the rumours are true. Flopansson is sweeping. It’s her year. She’ll win Best Actress for both performances. The industry’s desire to reward Plastic Renee and Theron isn’t there, simply because they already have Oscars.
Phoenix is winning actor, Flopansson actress, Pacino supporting actor and Dern supporting actress. It’s over, my friends.November 10, 2019 at 8:15 am #1203173295
Theron does nothing in Bombshell. Who needs to win an Oscar is the make-up team, not her. Apart from that, she just mimics Kelly’s voice relatively successfully but that’s it. Nomination is more than enough. Zellweger is winning.November 10, 2019 at 3:50 am #1203173155
My girl Reese was amazing in this episode! It was wise of me to name this account after her character. I wish she had a chance at the Emmys, but let me not lie to myself: she is not happening. I’m sure she has more great work in store though.November 10, 2019 at 3:49 am #1203173151
I got to see Clemency (yes, indeed, I should at least blow my friend who is a film journalist for all the screeners he’s provided me with) and Woodard is just breathtaking. She’s getting nominated, and she’s starting from the Golden Globes, where the voters actually watch everything including flops. I’ve read all these Erivo predictions.. nope, she’s not happening.. anywhere.October 29, 2019 at 1:56 am #1203156990
I miraculously got access to the first 3 episodes, and I truly enjoyed them. It is not a groundbreaking show. I don’t know what people expected and are expecting. It’s fun, compelling. Carell is awful, Aniston is not that great, she has the meaty material but I personally believe some other actress would have been much better. But there’s room for improvement. The whole cast is decent with Crudup as additional standout. But the MVP for me is Reese. I know, you might think it’s bias, but it’s not. She’s genuinely good. I’d say she’s borderline supporting, but I thoroughly enjoyed her in these 3 episodes. She’s more believable than Aniston, but as people have stated already, this is Aniston’s show.
Not sure if it’s capable of winning any Globes; the competition is tough, though Globes might want to give Apple a warm welcome so we’ll see.October 29, 2019 at 1:50 am #1203156987
I just don’t understand whether people here are projecting wishful thinkings or just outright delusional? How many of you have seen Marriage Story? If you haven’t then you need to take a seat and if you have then you should re-evaluate your abilities as “predictors”. There is absolutely no way in hell Scarlett Johansson is going to win anything for this. She will be nominated of course, but a win is out of the question. Her role doesn’t even have enough meat in it to be considered as a front runner. She is no Emma Stone and this is not 2016.
As someone who’s seen the film, it’s ignorance due to having not seen the film, outright delusion. Johansson barely has material to get nominated. It’s ironic, because, on the one hand, the people who keep stating Johansson is winning no matter her material are also the people who support Emma Stone’s win. So isn’t it contradicting? Saying Johansson can win for a barely Oscar worthy performance like Stone, because she’s a big box office name, isn’t it like they themselves who support Stone’s win saying that Stone undeservedly won? Lol. Stone was a true lead and did a lot in that role: danced, sung, emoted. And she won because she was in Comedy at the Globes; she wouldn’t have won over Huppert or Portman. Johansson isn’t winning the Globe over the other contenders. She’d have a better chance in supporting, but nowadays the Academy is not into giving 2 nods in one year anyway. Just enjoy Johansson getting her first Oscar nom and finally getting the Oscar Nominee title y’all. She herself will be thrilled.October 14, 2019 at 12:37 pm #1203136436
Have you actually seen Marriage Story? Not judging, just wondering, because a lot of people here seem to be calling Johansson mediocre without having even seen her.
Mhm. I’ve posted before about it. She has lackluster material. She’ll be a filler nominee. That’s it. The Emma Stone/Jennifer Lawrence comparisons are deeply flawed. This is ultimately a Zellweger-Theron race. Johansson doesn’t stand a chance. Receiving her first Oscar nomination is her reward.October 14, 2019 at 5:24 am #1203135647
As per usual, GoldDerby willingly is gonna stay blind. Theron is winning the Oscar. Zellweger couldn’t be more passable in Judy. And Johansson.. well, she didn’t deliver a performance out of the ordinary.
