I watched The Menu last night and while a longshot for recognition, it had some very strong ensemble work.
It would be nice to see Fiennes recognized as well.
January 6, 2023 at 8:30 am #1205223474Glaring omissions on this list along with some questionable rankings.
Also noticeable to me that Janet Jackson is mentioned twice in the top 100 but not on the list …
ReplyNovember 18, 2022 at 12:02 pm #1205159423As a musician myself I do kinda resent that 28 producers and 104 songwriters credits could or even should be nominated for AOTY.
Ha. I agree and I think this will work against RENAISSANCE.

Despite basically disappearing after Easy On Me, I think most people did listen to this album as a whole and it can be appreciated as a body of work.

ReplyNovember 15, 2022 at 7:25 pm #1205155360I think this is an Easy On Me/All Too Well battle.
ATW is the superior song, but it’s tough to bet against an Adele sweep. However, does the lack of Country representation shore up votes for ATW? Could be close.
The Bonnie Raitt nod is extremely random, but I’m happy to see a stunning song recognized.

I’m all for the Beyonce’ GF love, but legitimate question, is “REANAISSANCE” truly the album for which we want her winning her first AOTY Grammy? It’s just not that album. An AOTY win would seem like a make-good to me. But, it’s a win nonetheless?
Also, BMS does not belong in SOTY. Record, 100%.
