No, this is not going to win any awards. Did I enjoy it? Very much so and am looking forward to season 2 and what it’ll do on Hulu.
The show never pretended to be something it’s not. It’s easy, charming comfort food that’s highly binge-able (especially from episode 7 on). I actually enjoyed this rare PG-13 version of high school. For me, it’s a nice break from the more explicit portrayal of American high school (Not that there is anything wrong with that).
It followed the tone of the film and most fans of the film will be satisfied with this spin-off effort. I know I am.
