Super excited to see what Kacey is going to give us after coming off Golden Hour which was so widely considered her magnum opus. Give us the angry divorce album Miss Musgraves!!
That would be the serve of the decade but fortunately Kacey & Ruston are on good terms! Her album is rumored to be titled “Star-Crossed” and the lyrics are expected to channel thank u, next-isms. Wouldn’t be surprised if she recorded a duet with Ruston Kelly himself.

edit: beat me to it lmao but the fact that two people posted this simultaneously shows that we should keep both eyes out on her.

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 18, 2021 at 11:27 am #1204207516Ariana Grande is so not happening that she has been the main subject on half of the posts in this topic.
It’s crazy how half of the posters here are so triggered about the small possibility of her winning a single Pop field category, that they can’t take her name out of her mouth. lmao
To me, Ariana’s Grammy numbers are reminiscent of P!nk and Kelly Clarkson. Unless something unsual happens, her numbers will converge into 3 awards out of approximately 20 nominations by the time she retires. This is also fairly common amongst Country/Rap A-listers past their peak.
And this year she’ll get her usual 3 Pop nominations plus some change in the GF. Probably ROTY since she’ll have multiple songs in the top 20 of the Billboard Year End charts. If she’s lucky, she’ll win something in Pop. But BE2, drivers license and Levitating seem like the respective frontrunners for now at least.

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 15, 2021 at 12:46 pm #1204202637Ariana will probably submit positions to ROTY and BPSP (which is the smartest choice), pov will be saved for SOTY. The problem is that they are not pushing the song at all and it’s too late for a mv imo, but since we know her team submits a different song for SOTY it will probably be that.
pov is expected to re-chart within the next two weeks thanks to airplay only. her team will start pushing the song very soon. if it matches positions and 34+35’s success, it might be submitted in BPSP so she can benefit from recency. also, the R&B field will/should reject it.

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 15, 2021 at 8:09 am #1204201984Montero will go to Pop just like the 7 EP. Nas may submit something in Melodic Rap like Panini last time, but he’s in the exact same Pop boat as Post Malone.
Plus, I’m very sure Big Sean will receive a filler Best Rap Album nomination.

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 13, 2021 at 8:21 am #1204197887I didn’t realize that Starting Over has been charting for 8 months. It also finally reached #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart and nearly re-peaked at #25 on the Hot 100.
I know last year we overestimated Maren Morris’ The Bones, but The Middle, which is a bigger hit, had already been nominated.
Starting Over is sure to win Country Solo Performance and possibly Country Song at this point, but I think this is the year Chris Stapleton will be awarded with a SOTY nomination.
AOTY nods are just for the greats such as Sturgill, Kacey and him, but even the most average country singers have made it to SOTY once as some sort of “career achievement”. I said singers because they didn’t get the songwriting nomination.
tl; dr: Congrats on your SOTY (and possibly AOTY again) nomination(s), Chris Stapleton

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 12, 2021 at 9:54 am #1204195804The Grammys were so ugly in 2011 for filling ROTY with R&B and Rap tracks only to give the award to Lady AntiBLM. That was the only time she deserved ROTY.
I don’t like This is America’s lyrics and Shallow would be her perfect opportunity to win SOTY, but I’m not going to miss out on awarding a groundbreaking song. Though if I had the opportunity to choose a first Rap SOTY, it would’ve obviously been a Kendrick or a 2000s Kanye song.

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 12, 2021 at 9:51 am #1204195799I’ll just ellaborate on Red wince it’s the only time Taylor undeservingly lost all of her nominations.
Red is Taylor’s best album but I still would’ve given everything to Kacey & Daft Punk or Kendrick.
As much as it was groundbreaking to see Darius Rucker winning Best Country Solo Performance, I would’ve given it to Taylor for Begin Again. Kacey & her were snubbed because they were strong competition.
And honestly I would’ve given Best Country Duo/Group Performance to her as well, for Highway Don’t Care. That’s a project that screams “televised Grammy acceptance speech”.
- 2010 – all 4 categories she won, I love Beyoncé but I hate I Am… Sasha Fierce
- AOTY, Country Album, Country Female Solo Perf, Country Song
- 2012 – the 2 she won + Best Country Album (fuck Lady AntiBLM)
- Country Album, Country Solo Perf, Country Song
- 2013 – safe & sound should’ve pulled a 2/2, also i hate every GF winner this year
- SWFVM, Country Duo/Group Perf
- 2014 – the 2 wins i mentioned above
- Country Solo Perf, Country Duo/Group Perf
- 2015 – I hate everything about ROTY, SOTY and BPSP this year, somehow the silly Shake It Off seemed deserving but if I could still change all 15 slots she would’ve still gone home empty-handed
- 2016 – Taylor wins BPVA & BPSP, D’Angelo & Kendrick takeover the GF, and that’s it
- BPVA, BPSP
- 2018 – Little Big Town winning a Grammy instead of Taylor who wrote Better Man alone was ugly. Usually Country voters benefit songwriters more than performers. Also, I’m glad LWYMMD failed to make it to the top 6 of BPSP and possibly the entire top 10 lmaoooo
- Country Song
- 2019 – reputation is terrible
- 2020 – I love The Chicks and don’t care about Dan + Shay but I wouldn’t have given Country Duo/Group to SYGB
- 2021 – folklore should’ve been Taylor’s 2nd AOTY, and I would only disagree with that had Fiona Apple been nominated. I also love betty so much but I wouldn’t have nominated it. I’d leave ROTY & BPSP to Dua Lipa
- AOTY, BPVA
I may have taken one of her AOTYs away but I gave her 5 extra Grammys. With 16, she’d have more than Lady Gaga, The Chicks, Adele and Alicia Keys.

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 12, 2021 at 9:23 am #1204195710Rihanna deservingly has 9 Grammys but I disagree with most of them and think she should’ve won in other occasions.
I don’t know in what year she submitted We Found Love for ROTY & SOTY, but in 2013 she deserved to win ROTY. I would’ve loved to see Bad Girls taking Music Video instead
Rihanna’s sole Album win being for Unapologetic is ugly.
- 2008 – Rap/Sung Collaboration for Umbrella
- 2010 – Rap/Sung Collaboration for Run This Town
- 2012 – Rap/Sung Collaboration for All of the Lights
- 2013 – Record of the Year for We Found Love
- 2013 – Dance Recording for We Found Love
- 2015 – Rap/Sung Collaboration for The Monster
- 2017 – Pop Duo/Group for Work
- 2017 – Rap/Sung Performance for Famous
- 2017 – Recording Package for ANTi.
- 2018 – Rap/Sung Performance for LOYALTY.

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 10, 2021 at 4:50 pm #1204190844Nicki’s timing is terrible – she always faced extremely fierce competiton. MBDTF AND TPAB?!
She was also ahead of her time. Her biggest hits were either ineligible for “Melodic Rap” at the time it was called “Rap/Sung Collaboration” or not Grammy friendly enough to sneak into Pop Solo.
In my books Nicki has an honorary Grammy for being one of the artists to help popularize solo rap/sung tracks.
PS: Ariana & Nicki missed the opportunity to get an easy Best Pop Duo/Group Performance nomination by submitting Side To Side one year too early.

Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob CollierApril 10, 2021 at 4:30 pm #1204190797Country this year is going to be a Chris vs. Kacey bloodbath with Keith Urban & P!nk challenging Dan + Shay’s streak in Country Duo/Group. They haven’t won any Grammys in over a decade so their Australian hit deserves something depending on who’s featured in Kacey’s album.
Also, if Björk’s next album comes out in a weak year, she’ll finally win. The Grammys are willing to award long overdue artists. See Tanya Tucker, Nas and Ledisi for example.
Montero will be submitted in the Pop field just like 7.
Foo Fighters vs. Paul McCartney is an interesting battle of veterans. After Coldplay’s unexpected AOTY nomination, I dare to say one of them will be nominated for AOTY next year…
