John Ritter (8 Simple Rules) did get a posthumous nom for a show (like The Goldbergs), that the Academy doesn’t even know exists .
So it’s possible.
That is a similar situation as to what I had in mind, although I don’t know that the Acacdemy has the same affection for Segal that they had for Ritter.March 24, 2021 at 8:11 am #1204155007
I don’t watch The Goldbergs and I know it’s never really been an Emmy contender but the field seems so weak this year, is there any chance George Segal gets a posthumous nomination?March 17, 2021 at 9:30 pm #1204142383
I have a feeling that Minari is being overestimated and Trial of the Chicago 7 is being underestimated as far as likelihood to win Best Picture. I could be wrong about this but it feels to me that Minari missing out in Editing is more damaging than Sorking getting snubbed in Director. I also think Trial of the Chicago 7 is ahead of Minari in original screenplay, which may or may not matter.January 14, 2021 at 5:12 pm #1203984093
