Robin Wright should be in the conversation for Land, where she gives a career best performance. Unfortunately, no one is talking about her.

The film trilogy was universally acclaimed, it wasn’t that long ago that it came out, and it all holds up incredibly well. Sure, there’s book material that was absent in the film that can be covered here, but the movies are so beloved, I just can’t fathom the idea of this series matching them, much less exceeding them.
My initial reaction is to agree with you. The film trilogy is one of my favorites of all time. It is a masterpiece in filmmaking, and it is highly doubtful that that this adaptation could ever surpass the brilliance of the original. I also don’t want to dismiss it prematurely, though, because it could turn out to be something amazing in it’s own right. Too bad we have to wait so long to find out.

Others that quickly come to mind off the top of my head:
Anna Torv, Fringe
Reply
Katy Sagal, Maggie Siff & Charlie Hunnam, Sons of Anarchy
Wendi Mclendon-Covey, The Goldbergs
Anna Paquin, True Blood
Corey Stoll, House of Cards
Timothy Simons, VeepNovember 5, 2019 at 12:59 am #1203166683It’s possible but I wouldn’t predict it yet. I really don’t know this show’s trajectory awards-wise, especially with the lack of clarity over its status as a limited series (or drama series).
Whatever category the show ends up in, I hope the voters (especially Emmy voters) are paying close attention. “She Was Killed by Space Junk” features an absolutely fantastic performance from Smart, and she should be competitive, no matter the category. She is mesmerizing.

Finally caught up on The Goldberg’s (How the heck does Wendi Mclendon-Covey not have ((several)) Emmy nominations?!)

I also liked the scene between Dan and Darlene, but I hate the triangle storyline. It gave Darlene a bad look, imo. Anyway, love this cast and glad to have them back. A-

September 22, 2019 at 6:59 pm #120309543628 pages.. Surprised many of you are still watching this garbage.
I vowed to not watch anymore after they had the audacity to snub Richard Madden.
Oh and I heard they awarded “Carpool Karaoke” over “Homecoming” lmao..
I’m not a Beyoncé stan, but that’s just the embodiment of white privilege; a woman of color works her ass of for 6 months after giving birth to give one of the best performances of all time, only to lose two old white men singing in a car.
One of the best performances of all time? Pssh.
