At this stage in her life and career the Grammys are like cake dressing for her, she doesn’t really need them or attach any sort of reverence to them. It’d still be nice to see a work like Caution nab at least one nomination because it is objectively just a stunning piece of work!

Ventura would have been a guaranteed nomination in Best Urban Contemporary Album and Oxnard doesn’t have the critical or commercial gravitas for a nomination in Best Rap Album.

I’m a huge fan of Ariana’s and would’ve thought that Best POP Vocal Album was a lock for her but I’d be happy if she walked away with nothing this year. Her submissions were horrendous this year, and anyways, it’s Lana’s year (at least in this category) (Also yaaasss to the Robyn album)

Trip was a much bigger Urban AC hit and was (in my opinion) much more sophisticated in terms of its composition than Boo’d Up. I didn’t say she was a 100% lock, but she’s the closest thing we have to it.

She’s weathered so much scrutiny for most her career and has been constantly bashed by critics, so the fact that they did a complete U-turn for this album is significant in itself. I can honestly see a win happening and I can’t think of anyone who deserves it more!

Idk why but Ariana’s past two releases have kinda been underwhelming. Boyfriend was cute and the concept behind Don’t Call Me Angel was amazing, but it just didn’t translate into the song in my opinion. I love Lana but her part felt kinda… jarring.

In a perfect world she’d be nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album next year, but she’ll get snubbed for sure. It’s SO GOOD

Lana DESERVES to win AOTY, whether or not she actually does is another thing. She’ll be nominated for sure

The closest thing we have to a lock in this category is Trip for Best R&B Song and R&B Performance. Everything else is up in the air!

I have a strong feeling that Lana will nab an AOTY nomination as a critic’s favourite (the same as Janelle last year). I really want her to win but it was released at the end of the deadline, but here’s to hoping the committee FINALLY acknowledge her
