This event will shut down Sunday night, most likely at 6:00 PT. The embargoed list starts to be shared with media members sometime tonight, so we can’t allow people to predict anymore once that happens. Make your changes over the next few hours!
I haven’t heard much about either Hugh Grant (although he has been campaigning) or Meryl Streep. She is probably very doubtful for this entire season since it’s just one scene. Grant is more likely for TV and could even win that category.
Someone very informed told me that Seth Meyers would not return this time for the Globes. They also said he had been told it would be a solo female.
I think we all had heard that Jimmy Kimmel will not be back under the new Oscars producers.
From what I’ve heard, you would be foolish to remove Crazy Rich Asians. If anything falls out for Eighth Grade, it might be Vice. The others are all too strong. But I’ve heard nothing negative on Vice.
I’ve heard little about MQOS, but it screened very late. The person campaigning the most for it is Margot Robbie.
Portman is much more praised that the film itself.
Nothing specific on Widows, but it does not seem to be performing very well with any groups this season.

Slater is not eligible for Mr. Robot…[Read more]
When I update today, my picks are Star Is Born, Beale Street, Black Panther, Bohemian and Quiet Place. I’ve heard their members talking far more about those films than any other dramas.
People not working on the Bohemian Rhapsody campaign (competitors) are telling us it is one of the favorite films of the year by the HFPA. I am moving it into my predictions. Rami Malek was already in there.
Full rundown for tonight’s ceremony…

Actor Ken Berry of “F Troop,” “Mayberry RFD” and “Mama’s Family” died today at age 85.
Not predicting Hawke to at least get nominated (if not win) is foolish at this point. He is going to continue dominating with many critics groups wins plus Globes, SAG, BAFTA nominations. It’s the biggest push by A24 this year and has a ton of dollars behind the campaign. He’s so charming on the awards circuit and is playing the game very well…[Read more]
