Austin Butler seems to be giving it his all. The physicality in particular is there, I wouldn’t mind him getting award recognition…. Tom Hanks though, I have no idea what he is doing but it’s giving Paolo Gucci :/
ReplyFebruary 3, 2022 at 3:01 pm #1204772197My takeaway from BAFTAs: Looking at those names, Gaga was not top 2, she is top 1. Doesn’t mean she will win but it bode well for her since she got so more international support than her competitors Olivia Colman winning chances are done, this was her turf and she was not even top 2. Nicole Kidman, yes it hurt her. But it doesn’t mean she is out of winning like Olivia Colman. However, I would like to know if she was top 3 or not. If #3 was Olivia and #4 was Nicole, then that is huge discrepancy of international support between Gaga and Nicole. If she was #3 then its fine.
I thinking along the same lines.
I mean it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a slam dunk for Gaga but she’s def the frontrunner now with about 2 months to go. It’s a long while for things to change.

BabylonSeptember 8, 2021 at 11:18 pm #1204445659Here’s what I’m picking up as of now: Cate Blanchett (Nightmare Alley) Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter) Lady Gaga (House of Gucci) Jennifer Hudson (Aretha) Kristen Stewart (Spencer) With no GG, SAG is going to play even more of a factor this year. Frankly, I don’t see the nominating committee passing up Jennifer for an Aretha biopic like they did Andra (whose film came way too late to the party). While its b.o. was lackluster, Respect streaming early may actually give her an advantage. We’ll see though.
Agreed, Hudson will get in at SAG. However, I think at the Oscars she’ll be replaced by Chastain.
August 11, 2021 at 10:21 pm #1204393071I think Driver’s role will be supporting but they’ll push him in lead nonetheless to maximise nomination potential with Leto, Pacino and Irons placed in supporting.
July 29, 2021 at 9:51 pm #1204371281He should have more to do in the film itself. His character has the best arc but in the trailer he does feel overshadowed (Maurizio was kind of a shy dude who ended up a big bad businessman so it does make sense). Like we didn’t see any of him and Gaga shouting at each other (presumably because MGM are smart and know that kissing in the bathtub has better virality) Gaga has tens of millions of social media followers, foreground her in the trailer and you get views.
right and apart from the other clips the trailer really runs for 1:30 so I’m not concerned. This trailer was designed to quickly sell the glamour and style of the film and it did that. Having read the book, despite Maurizio’s disposition there are definitely meaty scenes for Adam coming.
July 29, 2021 at 5:47 pm #1204370780loved the trailer! Does look a bit camp due to perhaps the colour grading, editing and script. I don’t see any above the line wins but surely gaga can get a best actress nom. This style of acting suits her reminds me of Margot in I Tonya.

Actually very very good, MVP is Veronica Falcon, she should’ve gotten more attention for her performance….. anyways she’s cast in Ozark’s next season, I’m sure she’ll get the recognition she deserves now even though I’m sure she’ll be playing the same type of role lol
July 13, 2021 at 3:22 pm #1204344301so happy for The Crown and Handmaid’s Tale!!
I feel like I’m the only person here who likes Max Minghella’s performance, I’m glad a subtle one was recognised.
Rooting for a Mckenna Grace win and too bad Joseph Fiennes missed out, his line delivery in episode 10 was too good

Paul Bettany imo should have been in the awards conversation if Amazon actually campaigned it.
ReplyMarch 10, 2021 at 3:02 pm #1204105718That ski photo has now been trending for a full 24 hours. The volume of content is astronomical.
viral marketing is thriving over the fact that it’s a pandemic and people have nothing better to do other than scroll through twitter and consume bts leaked material.
I love this for Gaga and Adam
