And yet almost two years later Sour is still at #14 and it won very little.

Fraud confirmed.  Sabrina Carpenter’s Nonsense which was pushed up just the Spotify charts alone to #6 very quickly due to the Autoplay/Payola reset is now crashing back to earth in two days down to #50.  Spotify must have reset the algorithm again.  Scratch her from any BNA 2024 discussion.

Wet Leg to me really looks like it will win. I think it is connecting the facts. 5 nominations, 3 from their alternative niche 1 from engineering and 1 in the big 4, it all fits with them actually winning. I have a favorite in BNA, but I prefer Wet Leg to win because I think that would be more consistent.

Old people like Wet Leg.  I’m old and I like Wet Leg.

For an ended era Sour is still doing well.  The only two females charting higher albums on Billboard 200 right now are Taylor and SZA.  I didn’t see Dua….wait there she is with Future Nostalgia at #62.

Sabrina Carpenter has been submitting her work for Grammy consideration without including Best New Artist for many years. She’s not eligible and probably hasn’t been since her Disney Channel days. Her demographic is too young for her to be considered a contender at the Grammys. She’s still on the same level Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez were in the early 2010s or Fifth Harmony was in the late 2010s. Olivia Rodrigo was nominated across the board because she was a rare teen child star/popstar who crossed over to adult audiences. “drivers license” and SOUR were juggernauts in 2021. “Nonsense” needs to go #1 for Sabrina Carpenter to be included in this conversation. And don’t forget Halsey’s “Without Me” was snubbed in BPSP in favor of Beyoncé’s “Spirit” and Taylor Swift’s “You Need To Calm Down”. Pop voters vote for names, not for hits.

Sabrina’s audience is the same as Olivia’s and she too can “cross over”.  Her song Nonsense is headed to number one right now based on all of her new found Swifty fans.  That pat on the head from Taylor was actually an anointment.

Anti-Hero officially spends an eighth week at no. 1. It is now Taylor’s longest charting no.1 of her career and ties driver’s license as the second longest charting no. 1 female song of the 20s decade so far. Flowers is locked to go no. 1 next week, therefore Kill Bill will not reach no. 1 unless it can beat flowers in the next few weeks. If Flowers keeps this up it can easily do multiple weeks at the top.

Everyone is overlooking Sabrina Carpenter who is smashing right now and will soon end it for both Taylor and Miley.  She is a gem who has been overlooked for too long and will be a favorite for at least best new artist.

I loved the album so muchhh! The album is sooo good and I do get why others say that it is a grower. As a Swiftie myself, I can say that there were some tracks which didn’t click with me at first listen. However, it was by replaying the album that those songs became more beautiful and they are now my favourite tracks. I don’t know if it’s just me but I listen to the 3am version every single time. Oh and the music videos? Perfection. Blondie does it again. ANother masterpiece from her I must say.

Don’t forget about the Sabrina plug:

I am really hoping that Sabrina Carpenter’s album Emails I can’t send gets nominated for any category. It was such a no-skip album and I must say I really loved it a lot. Not much of a fan of her before but hearing this album kept me going. I swear I can’t remember how long it was on replay for me. Such a good album.

There, I added it in for you !
