Darlings, Banderas is getting the praise he deserves and he should be this year’s Huppert, but winning. His nuanced and soulful deserves a dildo more than Joke and Nose’s trying-too-hard-performances.December 8, 2019 at 5:55 pm #1203225302
Darlings, both are not deserving. Banderas or Murphy should win.December 8, 2019 at 2:58 pm #1203224929
Darlings, Pain and Glory is probably the best film of the year. Thatcher is happy. Banderas and the movie are getting what they deserve.December 8, 2019 at 2:56 pm #1203224920
Darlings, Duplicity is COMING as Thatcher has been telling you. I am going to laugh at all of you, dear haters. She’s getting the nod.December 8, 2019 at 8:22 am #1203223323
Darlings, you all called your Prime Minister blind when I said that Duplicity will be a contender and well… she keeps getting nominations. My words are blessed, dear citizens.December 5, 2019 at 3:02 pm #1203219081
Darlings, Academy Award-nominee Adriana Barraza is getting RAVES from critics for her supporting performance in “To Come” (Venir). She could get a nod. Marina de Tavira is also mentioned in some of them.
Jeremy Johansson from Chicago Tribute:
“Venir is probably the 2019 Traffic but probably better… Ortega’s vision of sex trafficking is incredibly brutal and the performances are beyond any expectations… Aparicio delivered a very different performance from her Oscar-nominated role last year, but not worse. However, it is Adriana Barraza who really steals the movie in her best performance since Babel.
Adrien Klimt from The New Jersey Times:
“A marvelous, beautiful but dark tale about Latin America’s situation… Patricia Ortega shows her talent as a filmmaker… The acting was mindblowing… Barraza serves as a perfect counterpart to Aparicio’s tremendous performance.”
Christine Heigl from Daily Window:
“I wasn’t expecting anything about Venir but… it surprised me a lot. I’m still digesting it and I don’t really know if I liked it or not… Aparicio was certainly STUNNING and its ensemble is really great. We’ve never seen Michael Peña in a role like this but Marina de Tavira and Adriana Barraza leave a very strong impression on the viewer.”
Kurt Klownik from Cinephilie:
“Venir is such a weird debut for director Patricia Ortega. And I don’t mean it in a bad way. Not at all. It may be the most shocking and divisive movie of the year… The cast is full of talent. Aparicio and Barraza’s performances are out of this world… Barraza’s monologue about her children’s loss is the best piece of acting I’ve seen in 2019 and her last scene with Marina de Tavira is something else.”
Alicia Romero from El Chapo del Cine:
“I didn’t quite enjoy the movie because of its excessively depressing tone but it is by no means a bad movie… Aparicio, Barraza, de Tavira and Jorge Antonio Guerrero should be in the conversation for the upcoming awards season.
Christian Stuckward from The Royal Cinephile:
“I was quite impressed by the tone of Venir. I thought the premise was kind of over the top. And the movie ended being very over the top and soapy, to be honest… However, I was entirely possessed by every second of it… There are some terrific, Oscar-worthy performances here by Aparicio and Barraza. This could (and should) mean their return to the Oscars… Barraza’s character is truly layered and her work is outstanding. Her 10-minute monologue is a freaking acting masterclass.”December 5, 2019 at 2:23 pm #1203219000
Darlings, guess what. Duplicity is getting deservedly nominated. Don’t worry about it. Thatcher knows what’s going to happen, as always. There are going to be 2 shocking surprises you’re not expecting t all…December 5, 2019 at 11:14 am #1203218681
Darlings, John is mad because “Venir” is going to outperform “Clownery” at the box office.December 5, 2019 at 11:11 am #1203218672
Darlings, this thread is full of disgusting and unclassy posts. Some people here should be banned. It is certainly annoying for royal users to see this mess. I am truly exhausted by the amount of haters and troublemakers this site is having lately. If I were your Prime Minister again, I’d send every troop I had. But well, I’m not. And I’m truly thinking about stopping posting in a forum full of childish, immature and annoying creatures. I am very, very disappointed, my dear citizens.December 5, 2019 at 10:52 am #1203218620
Darlings, I laugh at all of you who replied me saying I was wrong about Duplicity being significant in the race. Where are all of you hiding, dear haters? As a holy proverb says: “Thatcher is always right”.December 5, 2019 at 10:46 am #1203218603
Leo is a lock.
Darling, not only Shouty DiCaprio is not a lock, he’s also losing the momentum the film had two months ago. The Academy could snub him (and, of course, they should). Banderas is deservedly getting a spot.December 4, 2019 at 10:48 am #1203216516
Darlings, if Disgusting Gems and Sandler are getting nominated at the Oscars over Hustlers and Banderas/Murphy/Pattinson your former Prime Minister is IMMEDIATELY sending her lasting troops.
