Gaga has 11 grammys ariana 1
Ariana is the the should be thanking gaga for doubling her grammys
if ariana wasn’t on the track rain on me would’ve been unsuccessful and not in the running to win anything. i shouldn’t even have to explain that.

Chromatica has a better chance than Dua, Harry, and The Weeknd. GoldDervy overestimates Harry and The Weeknd every year, and Dua had a stronger first album that didn’t even receive a genre nod. Why does everyone on this thread hate on Taylor and Gaga?
what the hell are you talking about? chromatica is getting 2, MAX 3 nominations (2 of which she can thank ariana grande for) nominations and that is THAT!

tell me why i already knew half the gold derby users would be slut shaming her. we’re not in 1920

I find it quite irresponsible of her and her team actually releasing on election weekend. I thought her dedication to the headcount would translate to something else during election weeknd and not promoting your brand new album. These days should be able about a bigger cause and not your album.
oh shut up

I can kinda see this if voters don’t want to give SOTY to Abel as well (unfortunately they’re lazy so…). She also does have more of an overdue factor going for her in SOTY as opposed to AOTY where she’s considered over-rewarded. If cardigan gets in then I think she’ll have 5 nominations, which I think ties the female record, and no wins in that category. If the BRP goes wild and blocks Abel in SOTY she could have an outside shot.
yeah, i think BL is still frontrunner but if it’s not him/they shut him out i can’t see it going to anybody but taylor. AOTY is kinda iffy to me at the moment but she could pull it off

i’d argue taylor has a bigger shot in SOTY than AOTY, despite cardigan falling quickly

doja cat is not a one hit wonder whatsoever, she hasn’t repeated thr chart run that say so had but the majority of her singles from hot pink are well known

doja will not miss, she has one of the top 10 biggest hits of the year (easily) and her album received generally favourable reviews too. not to mention the consistent cycle of new releases as well as performances

dua lipa clearly has been using payola but at the same time her callout scores for both her radio hits have been very good so she wasn’t fully relying on it at all
i feel bad for her because it will reflect badly on her as an artist even though she has the streams and callout scores (as mentioned) fo backup her success. same goes for most of the others they listed

rolling stone are weird for that article, like all pop artists 2020 use payola. they just picked names out of a hat to include

does anybody know about kehlani and kiana’s submissions? and if they have a chance?

hot pink is pretty genre-less. say so is pop but it’s the most pop song on the album and you can’t judge a whole album off one track. it has elements of pop, rap and r&b which is why it was perfect for progessive r&b

i’m gonna assume doja was moved to pop because say so was the big hit. that album is not a pop album and i’m pretty sure her and her label would’ve been sure about that and tried to get in progressive r&b, especially since she actually stood a chance of nomination in that category compared to pop vocal.
i’d have her at #7 in pop vocal though, her album was much more relevant than halsey, camila, justin, selena etc
