Dare I say Nick Offerman for Parks and Recreation?
He gave the male favorite performance on the show and was the male face of the show. Supporting actor was so hard to break through during the peak of Parks and Rec emmy love (seasons 3 and 4) due to the Modern Family guys. I know Rob Lowe submitted lead in those seasons but I dont think he would…[Read more]

No one told me that Beaver’s Nose was gonna be one of the best tv performances of year!!! A true spectacle in directing and editing. Nicholas Hoult tore through the finale too, playing a full range of emotions while never breaking from the tone of the show. Seriously, this show wouldn’t work if every actor didnt understand perfectly the…[Read more]

hats-off replied to the topic Which episodes should the submissions of the cast of The Crown Season 4? in the forum Television 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Season 1 it missed Jared Harris, Vanessa Kirby and Matt Smith
Season 2 it misses Jodie Balfour (who was absolutely incredible) and Matthew Goode
Season 3 it missed Tobias Menzies and Josh O’Connor
And I’ve been on the forums for a while and literally everytime the Crown comes out, it monopolizes chatter for at least a month after here and the…[Read more]

I agree with you whole-heartedly, and I wish HBC got hers over Julia Garner. Cri de Coeur and her arc in it sorta works as a thesis for the entire premise of the show, and it should’ve been their writing submission.
And since you brought it up, Lindsay Duncan absolutely slaps in The Leftovers

hats-off replied to the topic Which episodes should the submissions of the cast of The Crown Season 4? in the forum Television 1 month, 2 weeks ago
(1)The Crown underperforms for acting every year despite people hyping it up every year the month after it comes out.
(2)I think there will be under 8 nominees in the category since there will be less submissions.
(3)Handmaids Tale and Morning Show are popping with supporting actors, beloved by acting branch and confirmed coming back.…[Read more] -

Ethan Hawke, incredible should sweep and might even deserve TCA
Special notice needs to go to Joshua Caleb Johnson who also deserves a LEAD nomination and had a much harder part to play, had to be subtle and sell his character reconstruction.
And though the part was small, Daveed Diggs crafted the most interesting portrait of Frederick Douglas…[Read more]

I’ll preface this with saying that, since tapes dont matter, Im giving the episode where I thought each gave the best performance (not the best arc, tape, most screentime)
Of Whom I think Will Be Nominated
Olivia Colman- Fagan
Emma Corrin- War
Gillian Anderson- War
Helena Bonham Carter- The Hereditary Principle (lol)Of Whom I think Will be S…[Read more]

This is going to be unpopular (so unpopular that i feel like im wrong and i gotta rewatch) but i didnt really see the hype behind Emma Corrin after fairytale. After Terra Nullius i was able to get around supporting a nomination but still wasnt completey on board.
But then the last ten minutes of War, especially her final conversation with…[Read more]

Amy Poehler for Inside Out is an all-timer and would’ve been an excellent Oscar lead actress WINNER
and idk if it counts but Bradley Cooper in Guardians of the Galaxy gives a much much better performance than he needed to

Maria Bakalova is fricking outstanding in Borat 2. Several broad slapstick moments but also many many tender subtle sweet moments of acting and a couple of genuine oscar clip moments.

I don’t know if this opinion is unpopular, but I just watched Christopher Guest’s Best in Show and Fred Willard absolutely deserved an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor.
Just an incredible ratio of screen time to laughs, maybe the comedic equivalent of Jack Nicholson in For a Few Good Men

Amy Adams stars in Disenchanted written by Rachel Bloom and directed by Rian Johnson, turns the Disney princess genre entirely on its head in the way only Johnson can and Adams sings a showstopping emotionally deep and funny number at the climax written only in the way Bloom can.
I know Disenchanted was already written, but this is what I would want

I’ll try to be brief because I always think I sound pretentious when I defend this movie. But I really did love it. I felt like it tried to stand for something rather than just be a souless entertaining blockbuster. The way it took where the Force Awakens left off and introduced real stakes while paying incredible homage to Empire Strikes Back
