ReplyMarch 28, 2022 at 1:57 am #1204884951Am I the only one who see this was a 100% scripted stunt? It was sooo obvious. The way he walked up to Rock, all dramatic, the extremely dramatic movie slap, he was holding his smile while walking down to his seat. I admit when he sat down the rant was quite convincing, but Smith is a good actor.
This all was publicity stunt to raise the ratings.

March 7, 2022 at 1:55 am #1204834441I say the film twice now. One in a press screening and one with my friends.
I will talk in Oscars now.
Here’s how I see the film’s chances (for nominations):
VERY STRONG:
Best Sound
Best Makeup
Best Visual EffectsSTRONG:
Production Design
Film Editing
Cinematography
ScorePOSSIBLE:
Costume Design
Supporting Actor: Dano
Best PictureUNLIKELY:

Best Adapted ScreenplayOverall, I can see this film getting between 3-8 nominations. I really hope they put a good campaign for Dano, as he was just insane!

ReplyJanuary 14, 2022 at 3:28 am #1204726391I say The Power of the Dog, and I honestly don’t see anything win worthy in Kodi Smith-Macphee’s performance. He was good, but I believe Cumberbatch and Dunst gave the standout performances. With all the hype for his performance, maybe I expected more from him.
January 13, 2022 at 9:05 am #1204724460January 27th will be an exciting day: both PGA and DGA nominations will be announced!
Ah, so this is the day we find out if Spider-man is dead for BP nominations. If it does not get PGA nop, its over.
January 13, 2022 at 8:58 am #1204724450I just saw Power of the Dog. Cumberbatch and Dunst gave fantastic performances, but McPhee was nothing special. I hope he does not win.

I also hope Tom Holland to make something good and get nominated. I still believe he should have been nominated for The Impossible.
Another one who is WAY overdue for nominations is James Mcavoy!
ReplyJanuary 6, 2022 at 9:19 am #1204700234Spiderman does not deserve bp, a film shouldn’t be nominated based on success only. There’s nothing outstanding about it’s screenplay, direction, nor acting or editing.
The Academy nominate NOT outstanding films all the time, but all indies or biopics. Let’s nominate a blockbuster for a change. What was outstanding about Black Panther?
Spider-man had a good tight story, the direction was great in balancing action, humor and drama. And the acting in that film was superb! Holand and Dafoe gave nomination worthy performances for me.
January 6, 2022 at 4:13 am #1204699820I just want to see if the academy have the balls to nominated Spider-Man: No Way Home in best picture. The only Marvel film to be nominated was Black Panther, and let’s face it, the film was nothig special…but Africa, so nomination.
If SPNWH gets in with the PGA, I believe it has a chance.
November 16, 2021 at 5:53 am #1204581713I just want them to give them all the emmys!
Any ideas in what category will Kayvan Novak be submitted? Lead or Supporting? He MUST be nominated!
ReplyJune 11, 2021 at 5:00 pm #1204296960All I am sure of for the Oscars is that Dune will get tons of nominations. Only based on the first trailer I can see it get: Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup, Visual Effects, Sound, Cinematography and probably Score as it is Zimmer.
Also It is a lock that Cruella will get Costume Design nod.
