The Critics Choice ties are meant to cover their bases and predict upsets.(Sound of Metal upset in editing, Bong upset in Director, tie in 2018 actress but failed to account for Colman etc)

With The Northman being a non factor this year I think Focus could spend more resources on Judi Dench for Belfast campaign. Dench is overdue for a second Oscar with an astounding 7 BAFTA awards record. The only problem is Belfast just needs to not be critically panned like Hillbilly Elegy but this is Kenneth Branagh we are talking about.

The reason why you didn’t know it is because it is a total f***ing lie. I admit I am attracted to cartoon characters, but I have never masturbated to them. That’s gross. They cannot back it up at all and are defaming me even further.
Umm not you being attracted to a 15 year old girl cartoon character and the way you aren’t denying the homophobic allegations

At least The Northman doesn’t have to fend off other big historical dramas like The Last Duel or Macbeth anymore.

Well excuse me for having an opinion. Ask an average person who is not on GoldDerby about the casting and I would bet the majority of them would not care. This is like that whole ScarJo in Ghost in the Shell thing where Americans lost their shit but Japanese people did not care about the casting. Or people thinking Speedy Gonzales was racist but Mexicans loved him.
Ghost in the Shell is an anime movie where the protagonist is a fictional robot. And what even is Speedy Gonzales; the cartoon mouse? Michael Jackson fans are the general public if you forgot and they would not want Bruno Mars to play him nor would Mars even want to portray him.

You do know that Bruno Mars was also being considered for a Prince biopic too right? Prince isn’t Filipino-Puerto Rican either.
And that’s equally problematic and proven false. “A representative for Bruno Mars says a report claiming he will portray Prince in a new movie is “100 percent false.”” Even Bruno Mars wouldn’t entertain such an idea just because a White studio person considers it does not mean its a good idea.

Zendaya in MCU, Samuel L. Jackson in MCU, Morgan Freeman in Shawshank, Noma Dumezweni in Cursed Child, Quvenzhane Wallis in Annie, Will Smith in Men in Black, Pam Grier in Jackie Brown, pretty much the entire cast of The Wiz, Dwayne Johnson in Hercules, Eartha Kitt as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright in Bond, Sam Jones in Smallville, Naomie Harris in Skyfall, Laurence Fishburne in Man of Steel
Michael Jackson is a cultural icon that’s real and an actual person. MCU characters, Hercules, and Catwoman are fictional creations I’m sorry but this argument is ridiculous and the way you’re passing it off as legitimate…

Then why is Anne Boleyn being played as a Black person?
Wow an obscure BBC series that will probably be drowned out since the BBC channel is oversaturated with historical dramas. We are talking about a Michael Jackson biopic here who’s a revered American pop culture icon…

I would bet a million dollars that the average joe would not give a crap about that casting, and only really the super woke SJWs would have a problem with it.
There is nothing SJW about wanting a Black man to play Michael Jackson. Because Michael is indeed a Black man. Y’all are obsessed with this “SJW” rhetoric. I swear if a Black man played Bob Dylan Goldderby would be like “hurrr durr pandering to identity politics and the left.” And I hope you know the majority of Michael Jackson fans range from a variety of races including a large chunk of them being White and I’m willing to bet THEY would be outraged as well.

Well, he isn’t white either. Robert Downey, Jr. wasn’t black either, but he sold it in Tropic Thunder.
Are you braindead? Michael Jackson is a Black man that should be played by a Black man. Same way no Black person is playing Princess Diana or Judy Garland. Robert Downey Jr did blackface as satire.

The Northman was my most antiquated film of 2020 ugh. I suppose Focus is now going to “focus” all of its attention on Soho. There is huge hype for the film so I’m excited to see how the film plans out. Dafoe will probably strike gold with the upcoming Lanthimos film next year. So patience…

500M box office ? What ? Thats not happening at all. This aint no Godzilla Vs Kong. Thats just stupid. 95% of Oscar noms dont make 400M at box office
Yeah it is stupid for a film like Cruella to make that much lmao. But if it does happen then Stone would most likely be in contention for a nomination as a reward.
Michelle Williams Oscar campaign manager.May 14, 2021 at 1:33 pm #1204255323
I would only consider Stone if Cruella gets 90+ Metacritic score and makes more than 500 million in the box office. At best she gets in at SAG like Blunt for Mary Poppins.
