Would love to see these as actors on actors pairings this year: – Christine Baranski and Bob Odenkirk – Emily Blunt and Elizabeth Debicki – Rachel Brosnahan and Jeremy Strong – Quinta Brunson and Sharon Horgan – Jessica Chastain and Elizabeth Olsen – Jennifer Coolidge and Lesley Manville – Ayo Edebiri and Rhea Seehorn – Taron Egerton and Jeremy Allen White – Giancarlo Esposito and Paul Walter Hauser – Domnhnall Gleeson and Melanie Lynskey – Diego Luna and Pedro Pascal – Natasha Lyonne and Tony Shalhoub – Sarah Snook and Hannah Waddingham
I hope they pair Chaske Spencer with Amber Midhunter.

The BAFTA jury is nine people according to Wikipedia? Correct me if I’m mistaken.

Which was voted by more people.
I know there isn’t much Emmy and BAFTA overlap, but I hope Amazon Prime uses Chaske’s historic BAFTA nomination for his Emmy campaign.
ReplyMarch 22, 2023 at 3:59 am #1205359469Ecstatic for Chaske Spencer making BAFTA history as the first native american actor nominated here!
That Ambika Mod snub is bonkers and unforgivable. I thought she was a safe bet for the win!

Thank you. I hope I start that day well.
ReplyMarch 18, 2023 at 11:01 am #1205356411And this is even funnier because a couple of months ago we all thought George and Tammy itself was a flop and a no1curr.
I wouldn’t go this far. I feel quite certain in saying of all the films and television shows which got SAG wins this year, ‘George and Tammy’ was the least watched. So, it has already happened once.
I don’t have any doubt she’ll campaign like crazy especially after the SAG win (which has at least secured the Emmy nomination), but she better pray none of the remaining shows with an actress in a leading role is a massive hit or she’ll lose and it won’t even be close.
ReplyMarch 18, 2023 at 4:37 am #1205356193Just watched the English and it’s a shame that his performance is not getting more traction cuz Chaske Spencer should easily be winning actor by a mile….Such a terrific original performance… Ps: Emily blunt gives her best ever performance in the finale and should also be in the winning conversation, rooting for her and Olsen to come through…
It’s especially sad when you consider how white the list of contenders is. I’m rooting for him to get a BAFTA nomination next week.
ReplyMarch 17, 2023 at 9:20 am #1205355421I watched part of episode one and I’m really enjoying it so far, I love the cinematography. I was also surprised by Chloe Bailey’s performance and the boyfriend’s, I thought they were fantastic. There’s also just this chaotic energy, I feel like I never have a clue where the show is going to take me next, something I feel hasn’t happened in a while for me. I also feel like I’ve never seen a show about stan culture/fandom like this and it’s a topic that’s really worth exploring I think. Unfortunately the vibe I’m getting is that the show just seems too weird/out there/artsy to get much awards attention. It’s hard to even tell what the show is about so far, and I can honestly see a lot of voters just turning it off in the first few minutes. I hope I’m wrong though. Id normally say oh, this will do great with critics, but even they don’t really seem to be taking to it so I’m wondering if this just falls totally under the radar.
Am I the only person who’s scared ‘Dead Ringers’ is seen that way too? At the very least, I’m expecting another ‘Hannibal’.

ReplyMarch 16, 2023 at 12:45 pm #1205354425This is why I think they are waiting to confirm it as a limited series, maybe they know it could be a huge audience hit and they are just waiting to see if it makes big enough numbers to warrant more seasons
Yup.
March 13, 2023 at 4:13 pm #1205351182The Oscars have ended and Amazon is off! Their section for their limited series on their FYC page is as follows: – Daisy Jones and the Six – The English – Dead Ringers – A Spy Among Friends – Chloe
Wasn’t ‘Swarm’ supposed to be there too? I believe someone here said it was limited.
