^did she submit? It’s not a snub if she didn’t submit. Two years in arow the biggest glaring snub was a B&B actress: Karla Mosley did submit last year and Rena Sofer did submit this year ):
Back to what could they submit – for Supporting Actor here are some ideas for the pre-nominees:
John Aniston could contrast a tender supportive scene with Victor’s lady love Maggie and a fiery confrontation with Deimos from the “Victor’s choice” storyline early in the year. JA is the one I most care about seeing on the nominee’s list and wanting for him to win this year. He is way way way overdue for Emmy recognition!
Obba Babatunde only has one storyline and so of course he will submit the love child reveal.
Steve Burton has really good material from late in the year and could contrast his anger at Sharon over the baby and his tender scene saying goodbye to the baby. I’ve never been a big fan of SB but concede he did really good work in 2016.
Sean Carrigan had good scenes dealing with his demon seed Max and I think he will submit scenes from that storyline.
Chad Duell has grief scenes with the deaths of Sabrina and Morgan. I most remember his discovery of Sabrina after she had been murdered by Paul.
Bryton James has good scenes with Mishael Morgan to submit. He is very low-key in his acting. Nothing truly stands out for me..
Wally Kurth is also very low-key. His work with Judi Evans dealing with her illness and her choice between Justin and Lucas at the end of the year was good solid work.
Vincent Jeffrey Parise – sorry, just NO! We will know if the panel has lost its mind if he shows up on the nominees list!
James Reynolds is yet another low-key performer. The only scenes that were memorable that I would cite are after he got shot, the work he did with Kyler Pettis’s Theo in the hospital room.
Dominic Zamprogna – I simply don’t remember anything all that great in 2016. He’s always solid and competent but nothing more.
I only truly love one of these pre-nominees. John Aniston is literally the only one on my “dream ballot” of pre-nominees in this category!
Greg Vaughan was my real choice for Best Supporting Actor. Perhaps he didn’t submit. He was amazing during the aftermath of Daniel’s death, his drinking and coping badly with his going to prison. The best male acting of the year imo. Sigh. He ought to have an Emmy for his work in 2013 and now for 2016.
Dominic Zamprogna did some fantatic work in Morgan’s death storyline. He didn’t have much of a story, but when Morgan died, DZ did some FABULOUS work, and was true supporting actor in that story.January 25, 2017 at 8:04 am #1201994881
I want to add, that Michael Logan revealed that the Daytime Emmys Awards will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium (however the telecast, we don’t know yet)!!! Which I feel is awesome, because it is good break from the typical ballroom setting we have been having since 2012. The Pasadena Civic Auditorium has been the home to many Awards shows like NAACP Image Award. I feel like with a theatre, now the Daytime Emmys will feel more like Oscar type show! So I am really happy right now!! Who else?January 8, 2017 at 10:36 am #1201982089

Days of our Lives
Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series
James Lastovic as Joey Johnson
Joey with his parents grieve for the misscarriage, and Joey believes this is a payback for him killing Ava and his wish to confess to the muruder.
I repectfully disagree EmmyLoser. I think James was AMAZING and I felt incredibly moved by him and I think Emmy voters would really love it, if he sumbits the tape.January 5, 2017 at 6:12 am #1201980158

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Mishael Morgan as Hilary Curtis, The Young and the Restless
This is a strong sumbission for Mishael Morgan! First, it started with scenes with Neil, and them discussing that Devon ran off and the issues between her and Devon, and than her receiving the call that Devon has been in a car accident and reaction towards it! She display great emotions throughout the episode, It was some great work!!
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series: Sharon Case as Sharon Newman, The Young and the Restless
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Steve Burton as Dylan McAvoy, The Young and the Restless
The Dylan and Sharon goodbye scenes were heartwrenching! I almost cried, it was so well done! Especially, Sharon Case, she played the heartbroken one so well!January 2, 2017 at 4:32 pm #1201978462
I am huge fan of Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and she is such a wonderful actress. But, I am thinking since some of you had put her in their ballots, what do you think she should sumbit? Because even though, she has drove a story all year long, I feel like she has limited reels/scenes to sumbit, what do you guys think she should sumbit, to get her the nomination?March 24, 2016 at 4:08 pm #601150
I just wanna say, Hallelujah!!! For the simple fact, that many black actors have been nominated this year!!! In 2014, it all white actors in the six performer categories! Now, there is one black actor in each category except for Lead&Supporting Actress (bumper!), Especially with the wonderful work of Karla Mosley!
Congrats to Kristoff St.John, Sean Blakemore, Bryton James, Reign Edwards, Tequan Richmond, Obba Babatundé, Anna Maria Horsford!!!March 17, 2016 at 5:40 am #599587
^^No, I don’t think so, it’s because Access Hollywood is an “Entertainment News Program” not a talk show. But it would be nice if the Daytime Emmys could introduced a new category “Outstanding Anchor/Correspondent in a Entertainment News Program”, since they already have the “Oustanding Entertainment News Program” category. I mean if we honor the show, we should also honor the people presenting the show. Also, if they can’t do that, it would be smart for them to sumbit in the talk show categories for now, I mean both styles are very similar/alike.March 17, 2016 at 3:52 am #599573
Finola Hughes did an interview with Michael Fairman and those are the scenes she sumbitted for both rounds:
For the Pre-Noms, I chose when Anna tells Andre she killed Carlos, I think. (Laughs). Second round, I think I used some of that, and some of the Duke material.
Great sumbissions for her!! So excited for the Daytime Emmy nominations to come out next week!March 15, 2016 at 11:21 am #599256
^^^true, it is always a possibilty for them to tape their shows from LA….I think even Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan once tape theirs in front of the White House! However I am sure it is NOT an easy thing to do:
-probably very expensive (rent a venue etc..) and Oprah is not exactly poor so we know that she had all the sources to pull this off
-it probably takes a lot of planning and time (advertising etc..) and the Daytime Emmys announces their nominees just a month before the ceremony and you never know for sure if you are truly going to earn a nomination.
-also what happens when all these talk shows need venues for the same day in LA (again, not easy!!!)
I completely disagree with the fact that they can take off on Monday, how is that even possible? The ceremony ends around 10/11 p.m EST and sometimes even later (after parties) Live! with Kelly and Michael is at 9 am, Wendy at 10, and The View at 11. I am sure they rather not rush and rather take their time to have a nice trip. plus they will be extremely tired and exhausted on the Monday, which is in no way to present yourself on your own talk show.
This has to be the only reason why these people don’t show up, I mean they obviously want to be recognize (they sumbit themselves) and they just probably can not attend easily. if you disagree (which you are entitled to), why do you suggest are other possibilites of them not attending the ceremony?March 14, 2016 at 5:51 pm #429943
For those who are wondering, the reason why Kelly Ripa, Michael Strahan, Wendy Williams and the hosts from The View never show up at the Emmys are that their talks shows all shoot in New York, the ceremony is usually on a Sunday night in LA, therefore it is physically impossible for them to attend the ceremony and have time to go back home and do their talk show the next day (Monday).
With that said, my prefrences (NOT predictions) for Oustanding Entertaintment Talk Show Host(s); the bold text is who I would choose as my winner:
Kelly Ripa, Michael Strahan, Live! with Kelly and Michael
Adrienne Bailon, Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, Tamera Mowry-Housley, The Real
Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler, Sheryl Underwood, The Talk
Wendy Williams, The Wendy Williams ShowFebruary 25, 2016 at 3:06 am #430357
Yeah that’s my issue the server error. I am glad I am not the only one having this problem. ughhFebruary 24, 2016 at 5:12 pm #430354
I am trying to sent my ballot, but it keeps saying “Error”. Why is this? Is there another way I can vote? since I have been trying all night to sent my ballot.February 7, 2016 at 2:21 pm #430142
^^i think you are right. There are certainly other factors for example voters may favorite another actor regardless of their work submitted. Its a pretty unfair thing but I think that’s how hollywood. I think its just wishful thinking that voters would vote solely on the reels.February 6, 2016 at 3:23 am #430140
^^^but JMW’s character (Steffy) is a core character as well. So I am not sure what your point is.also, Stegfy never bullied Ally that was all on Maya&Rick. steffy actually tried to help Ally on her issues. And I think pre-noms are always based on the reels therefore I Think it truly depends what the person sumbits.
