Who will believe that she is the same person who played Mare. Kate Winslet is a legend she can do anything, can’t wait for this and your another project with her Trust.
Emmy #3 incoming.
ReplyFebruary 2, 2023 at 6:21 am #1205280652If I could only pick one of the five Bad Sisters to get nominated, easy decision it would be Ann-Marie Duff. Horgan is really really good but Duff has arguably the most difficult character to play in the entire series and pulls it off beautifully for the entire ten episodes.
Anne-Marie Duff deserves so much more credit for the absolutely devastating turn she pulled off in Bad Sisters. Those tiny moments when you could see the pain, and see her trying to hide it, shove it back down. She made us care and want to help her.
Her performance in Episode 10 is worthy an Emmy nomination.

ReplyFebruary 1, 2023 at 12:22 pm #1205279874Industry is a small show with a giant heart. Myha’la Herrold gives the performance of the year, Marisa Abela, David Jonsson, Harry Lawtey and Ken Leung are all incredible. Please go find this gem, created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay.
Herrold is one of the most exciting young actresses working today. Her incredible performances on Industry and Bobies Bodies Bodies should attract more projects soon. She definitely deserves awards and nominations.
ReplyFebruary 1, 2023 at 6:31 am #1205279232I really feel like Rhea Seehorn being snubbed for every award imaginable and being paid dust for playing Kim Wexler over the last half-decade by all these awards bodies will go down in the “never won an Emmy” category of embarrassing for them. Suc a massive oversight.
And I say “embarrassing for them” because she’ll be fine, but they all look ridiculous. I’m sure Jennifer Coolidge is great in The White Lotus but I guarantee there’s nothing as good (especially in drama) as what Rhea was doing with single movements of her face in the last run of Better Call Saul.
Every second she’s on screen is an Emmy worthy performance but her work in 6×08, 6×09 and 6×12 should be like guaranteed award level of great. I don’t know what it is about BCS that award shows just find so uninteresting since BB was a big Emmy winner.
Personally, I want Rhea Seehorn to win her Emmy this year for such an amazing and memorable performance.
ReplyJanuary 31, 2023 at 6:42 pm #1205278865After rewatching EEAAO for the first time since the theatrical run. Stephanie Hsu is maybe one of the best acting nominations in Oscar history. I was shocked how much of her performance. She was absolutely fantastic.
Yes, I know that Angela Basset is the frontrunner, but I’d love to see Hsu as a surprise win.
ReplyJanuary 31, 2023 at 5:40 am #1205275720If Judd Hirsch can be nominated for a Supporting Actor for one scene in The Fabelmans, then why not Samantha Norton for She Said? It is one of the most extraordinary performances I have seen this past year.

Judy Greer we will avenge you.
ReplyJanuary 30, 2023 at 4:58 pm #1205275286Hate to say I’m not surprised people are review bombing episode 3, how sad.
IMDb needs to do a verifies ratings system. Don’t know how they can do that for streaming services, but it’s just tough to trust any ratings on their site until they do and every single user based review should be verified.
This is homophobia. People either hate the gays or wanted a run of the mill action scene that has been done a million times in every zombies movie/show ever lol.
And now here I go making multiple accs to leave 10 star reviews.

January 28, 2023 at 7:01 pm #1205273041Maybe times and our culture have changed, but it seems pretty ironic to me someone could win for playing a real-life killer when they refused to reward someone for playing a fake serial killer.
If we’re going to have this conversation, It’s worthwhile to point out that Darren Criss won an Emmy for his portrayal of Andrew Cunacan.
We don’t need to see the weight of the crimes through Evan Peters, the excuse that it’s “spreading awareness” is bullshit. Ryan Murphy glorifies and sexualises killers in his other productions (AHS: Hotel and ACS: The Assassination of Gianni Versace), there is no way he suddenly turns a new leaf for Dahmer.
The portrayal of Dahmer & other famous killers was much worse & certainly more disrespectful, but people turned a blind eye to it. I don’t know why is Dahmer getting all these noms and awards. Murphy and Netflix deserves to go to hell and beyond for exploiting that monster’s victims and their families. Imagine going thourgh a dramatization of the worst moments of your life and people watching it as etertainment. It’s sick.
ReplyJanuary 27, 2023 at 5:49 pm #1205271369My guess is they won’t find anything. I have so many miex feelings on this not because of Andrea or how she got in, but because of who she got in over and why this tatic couldn’t have been used in the past for Ann Dowd, Ruth Negga, Alfre Woodard, Regina Hall and others.
If that unfunded actors campaign “violated” the rules then why didn’t you look into those tens and tens Weinstein nominations? How is hosting screenings & telling your friends to watch the film any different from studios hosting events and sending FYC packages?
The hypocrisy….

Danielle Deadwyler should’ve been nominated but it’s definitely not Andrea the one who took her place.
