I think it’s hilarious how somebody who claims to hate/dislike Ariana has the second most posts in this thread. Laughable. I thought she did great. Aside from the sound issues with the quests, and her getting choked up on some songs, she did amazing, and I’ve never seen her sing better than she did during Dangerous Woman and Breathin. Plus, many publications are praising the performance.March 31, 2019 at 8:10 am #1202835177
Not buying this Billie talk at all.
I think she gets into BNA and that’s it.March 26, 2019 at 12:37 pm #1202830256

That Ariana copying Beyonce/Rihanna argument was hilariously stupid. Bloodline sounds nothing like Man Down, lmao.March 1, 2019 at 1:04 am #1202799884
I knew Solange would deliver cause she’s just that girl. Easily an AOTY contender especially with the newly expanded number of nominees.February 21, 2019 at 6:48 pm #1202784381
I honestly don’t see Halsey getting in for anything but Pop Solo.February 20, 2019 at 12:52 pm #1202782893
I can’t believe an album staying in the top 25 for 6 months is considered a flop. So because she didn’t do as well as Drake, Post Malone, and a popular movie soundtrack, it means the album didn’t do well? At this point I refuse to believe these baseless points aren’t motivated by your apparent dislike for Ariana Grande. You really need to let it go 🥴.February 19, 2019 at 11:31 pm #1202782213
This guy really has it out for Ariana for some reason. Pathetic. I wonder what kind of meltdown he’ll have come December IF she lands an AOTY nomination.February 19, 2019 at 11:29 pm #1202782212
Um, Scorpion moved 300k in its second week. Naturally its first week sales are too big to keep at the same level for a second week (730k). Invasion of Privacy’s debut wasn’t impressive but it had longevity. We’ll see if Ariana has longevity. But sweetener obviously didn’t despite massive radio support. The same will probably be true for TUN.
Sweetener is #18 on this week’s BB200 and hasn’t left the top 25 since its release, 6 months ago. And it’s approaching double platinum eligibility. How is that not longevity lol?February 18, 2019 at 11:12 pm #1202781170
I’m betting on SZA’s next album being a big hit. I could see an AOTY nomination. She should’ve replaced Melodrama last year.February 18, 2019 at 11:11 pm #1202781168
I wonder if Katy Perry will release something this year. 365 shows she’s still able to write some radio-friendly catchy pop tunes. Early Contenders for Best Pop Duo/GP: 1. Sam Smith & Normani – Dancing With a Stranger 2. Katy Perry & Zedd – 365 3. Mark Ronson & Miley Cyrus – Nothing Breaks Like A Heart (this one should be easy, due to Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus acclaimed performances this year)
None of those are getting in.February 18, 2019 at 11:02 pm #1202781161
Just like you said sweetener was a lock lol. Truth is, the sound sweetener was more grammy friendly than thank u next. Thank U Next is full of those trap beats that the Grammy’s hate. And the Grammy’s did well ratings-wise. So the last thing they need next year is another round of drama with Ariana. They’ll probably avoid nominating her for big awards. And again #1s don’t matter anymore. Ariana had the #1 song in the country when the voters were voting and they still passed on her in Best Pop Solo, to reward a non-hit ballad. I doubt it’s mainly because of ASIB. Because if so, how did ASIB fail to land Gaga the win in the GF? If anything, ASIB underperformed this season. The only thing that did well is the music from it. It was mainly because the voters simply don’t like Ariana that much. And history shows they don’t like drama either. Just look at how quickly they dropped one of their darlings; Taylor Swift because of her drama. Ariana fucked up when she attacked the entire institution this year (not for the greater good, but for her own ego). So you stans will have to deal with the fact she may very well be shut out next year. And nothing for her is a lock.
I never said Sweetener was a lock for AOTY, I said it was likely to get in.
You’re the same person who implied that Ariana would lose Pop Vocal due to Sweetener not sounding “Grammy-like”, and now you’re saying the opposite and implying that her less risky album doesn’t sound like Grammy like?
ASIB didn’t underperform musically, which I’m sure the Grammy’s are about. It landed General Field nominations and lost to a political song.
Ariana having a dispute with a Grammy producer isn’t gonna affect her chances at general field noms, lol. You’re acting as if she’s the only artist to ever call out the Grammys.
Taylor lost out not because of her “drama”, but because her music wasn’t well recieved. It’s that simple.
You’re not even thinking with any type of logic and it’s quite entertaining seeing you deflect and make up nonsensical excuses every other post. 😌February 18, 2019 at 9:18 am #1202780439
ASIB in AOTY ain’t happening.
TUN is easily a lock in AOTY. It checks all the boxes. Huge acclaim, huge sales, multiple #1 hits. If it maintains longevity, it’s a lock.
And please, stop acting like 21 is some sort of godly record.
Watch out for Solange in AOTY next year. She’s taken a lot of time with her next album and I have a feeling it’ll be nothing short of spectacular.
Lion King isn’t happening anywhere.
