I go with Andra Day on my final bet (although I am not very confident about it), it is my favorite performance and after seeing so many interviews and musical performances by Andra, I created a great affection for her, so sweet, gentle and funny
Even if she doesn’t win, I thank the award season for introducing me to an artist as talented as she is, I hope she has other chances to prove her talent, the twitter film seems to dislike it for free, her film may not be wonderful but it is a prize of ACTING and she did it sublime.
Well, whoever wins, deserves it!
April 21, 2021 at 7:19 am #1204212727After reading a voter saying that no one is looking to see if an artist has won 1 or 2 Oscars at the time of the vote, I’m feeling that Frances will take the third. (and 4 with the film in Best Picture)
April 15, 2021 at 2:20 pm #1204202793Kristen on Lady Di and the movie “Spencer”.
You play Princess Diana in your next film. Are you afraid of the reactions, given the public’s sensitivity to this beloved woman?
No, my only wish is to do a good job on the screen. I was very young when she died, but I was shocked because it was the first time that a famous person passed away and I remember everyone talking about it for months. I grew up in Los Angeles, not London, which allows me to be a little further away from this apprehension of playing Lady Di. What I remembered first in my preparation is your connection with your fans. She lived an intimate drama being totally neglected in her intimate life, but adored by the audience. It is a tragedy to be so adored by the crowds and rejected by those who have to give you love and support when you return home. She was so alone and isolated. Diana is still an icon today, as she continues to live in people’s minds through her children. They are an example of a loving mother and woman who gave her life to save her children.
How do you feel playing the “princess of hearts”?
I am far from taking it lightly. It is one of the saddest stories of the last few decades, and I do not want to just play Diana, I want to understand, study and incorporate her in all her complexity as a woman. It’s been a long, long time since I’ve been so fascinated by a character. I read several biographies, watched documentaries, listened to all Lady Di’s interviews and worked for months to master her accent. I have a dialect trainer with me every day, because she had a very special voice, and it is essential that I succeed in this challenge. It’s a great experience. Each person has a different view of what Diana meant to him.
Honestly, my biggest concern remains the script that is by Steven Knight.

April 5, 2021 at 5:48 am #1204178978Carey Mulligan doesn’t even have a narrative to win, they talk so much about AACTA but I don’t remember Saoirse winning the Oscar last year..
April 4, 2021 at 7:55 pm #1204177656And we know Mulligan would’ve won BAFTA with the Old voting.
How do you get something if you haven’t even been nominated?
March 30, 2021 at 3:33 pm #1204166633Sharon Stone in ” Diabolique ”, the film was not well received but the critics praised her and I thought she was great, so her nomination may have been just an ”name check”.
March 7, 2021 at 10:33 am #1204090157Viola Davis
Andra Day
Yeri Han
Frances Mcdormand
Carey Mulligan
Something tells me that we will have a major omission on the 15th and I feel (I may be wrong) that it will be Kirby.
