I doubt that fifth season will premiere in time. Brooker said that complexity of Bandersnatch has caused a major delay in production of the new season.
I have a feeling that Atlanta won’t premiere until the fall as well.January 7, 2019 at 8:20 pm #1202725098
I think Neflix will do everything to release The Crown just in time for Emmys as it is their main contender. Just like they did with of HoC and UKS.January 7, 2019 at 6:16 am #1202724015
Umm, I don’t know. Olivia Colman seems to be a frontrunner even more than before.January 4, 2019 at 4:55 am #1202718093
“A new rule also allows linear networks to post “hanging” episodes of a series on a digital platform to make them eligible for Emmy consideration as long as they air within the month of June. ”
Yeah, but if HBO starts airing BLL 2 in June nothing will be “hanging”. The whole season will be in the 2020 cycle. Just like Pose or Succession this time.
Besides, I doubt that HBO would waste chunk of one of their most prestigious shows’ season to put it online before airing.December 1, 2018 at 3:16 am #1202686564

It’s amusing that 4 out of 6 nominations for Lead Actor in Comedy could be filled by Roseanne, Will and Grace, Arrested Development and Curb Your Enthusiasm at the same time. In 2018.March 27, 2018 at 1:39 am #1202519714
I think now that Hulu is planning to capitalize on staying fresh in Adademy’s minds. 10 episodes surely will give them plenty material for series, acting, writing and directing noms. And airing the final three episodes in July can help them in the process of final voting. Because tapes don’t matter the Academy will vote on the full product in series category and the acting in general throughout the season. They just need a strong contenders in writing and directing in first 10, which I assume they have.
I expect Sterling to be a double nominee. SNL has the best chance – his episode got nice reviews, I think. Insecure is a possibility insead of it, but a long shot imo. B99 probably won’t happen.March 26, 2018 at 11:49 am #1202519387
I can understand the UKS move – very similar to the final seasons of Breakibg Bad and Mad Men. I can’t blame Netflix. But Hulu is shooting itself in the foot.March 26, 2018 at 1:24 am #1202519130
They could also want to split this season of THT for two Emmy seasons if they’re planning a longer hiatus between S2 and S3, but that would not make much sense. It would only decrease chances for winning.March 26, 2018 at 12:23 am #1202519118
Can Hulu submit the whole season of “The Handmaid’s Tale”? Or just the first half? They will drop only 7 episodes by the end of May. That leaves 6 for the next season. Isn’t it too many to qualify as hanging episodes?
