The ones I’m currently predicting:
-Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Saturday Night Live)
-Meritt Wever (Run, Unbelievable)
-Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)March 25, 2020 at 8:20 am #1203393760
I don’t watch the show, so I can’t speak to your Handmaid’s comparison, but I doubt she’s a million times better. Strahovski and Dowd are doing excellent work on the show. You know they can all just be amazing, too.
She’s not a million times better, but is definitely better. Both Strahovski and Dowd had good moments this past season of Handmaid’s, but they weren’t the supporting MVP is all episodes, or even in the majority of episodes, at least I think that. Seehorn is. I would recommend you to watch her confrontation scene against Howard in episode 402, but there is a major spoiler in that scene, I don’t know if you’ll mind.March 25, 2020 at 7:11 am #1203393674
If last year things were in discussion about Seehorn deserving or not, this year they aren’t. She is killing every episode (I would say she can submit any episode from 3 to 6 and would be a winning tape). Every voter who watches Better Call Saul will vote for her.
We may argue that Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks and Bob Odenkirk were nominated because of the combination Breaking Bad + Better Call Saul, yes. But let’s not forget that Michael McKean was also nominated, who is a 100% BCS character, which means there are enough voters in the acting branch to nominate a Saul actor.
And btw, she is far more deserving than anyone from Handmaid’s Tale.March 24, 2020 at 2:15 pm #1203393018
WOW! I am speechless. A+ and best episode of the season so far.March 24, 2020 at 9:38 am #1203392657
I don’t TIU is the same thing as before, but WOW! Episode 417 was amazing. A+March 23, 2020 at 1:51 pm #1203391739
Also, Kaitlyn was nominated for the Critics Choice, the same award who nominated Elizabeth Perkins before Scanlen (!!!!). And as someone said before, Unbelievable is way better than Sharp Objects – I think the majority will agree on this.March 21, 2020 at 5:29 pm #1203389547
Best show to watch during the quarantine: UNBELIEVABLE (NETFLIX). Very, very addictive. Top-notch television! Only 8 episodes.March 20, 2020 at 8:59 am #1203388169
Malcolm in the Middle and Modern Family won 2 times in a row and never got nominated again. My Name Is Earl also won and never got a nom again either. I think Maisel will enter in that list easily.March 19, 2020 at 3:38 pm #1203387508
Snook will suffer from the same thing some other Succession actors will suffer from (and I’ve mentioned this before): Their material isn’t hefty and dramatic enough.
That makes sense for Culkin, Macfadyen and even J. Smith-Cameron, but I truly disagree with Snook. She is very dramatic, especially in the 2nd season with all the CEO thing.March 18, 2020 at 2:12 pm #1203386069
Call me crazy, but I’m putting Rhea Seehorn back in my predictions. She’s killing this season.March 18, 2020 at 2:10 pm #1203386067
Adding to the predictions center:
Emily Hampshire (“Schitt’s Creek”) — comedy supporting actress
Chris Elliott (“Schitt’s Creek”) — comedy supporting actor
Both would make my ballot if I was an Emmy voter. If Schitt’s Creek really overperform they could be the Sian Clifford of 2020.March 17, 2020 at 4:51 pm #1203385036
The Good Wife for Outstanding Drama Series in 2014March 17, 2020 at 4:26 pm #1203385011
Modern Family – currently on season 4. It’s so fun!March 17, 2020 at 2:23 pm #1203384644
Rhea Seehorn and Alison Brie need nominations ASAP. Also, I kind of want Succession to get a costume nomination – what’re the odds of that happening?
YES. I think it has a chance. And for production design too please.
