Darling, I’m voting for Multiverse Yeoh because her performance touched me to the core. A performance so dazzling, with perfect balance of drama and comedy, thanks to Multiverse’s talent.

I find it so hard to choose one of the four (Not including Goofy Wig) nominees because their performance are equally strong, one of the best lineup in years. My ranked ballot will be:

    Multiverse Yeoh
    Drunken Riseborough
    Lesbian Conductor
    Topless Ana
    Goofy Wig

Darling, The Fabelmans is not about Goofy Wig and basically about Young Twink Spielberg dealing with 60’s shenanigans and the villainy of his annoying mother.

To be quite honest, all this situation has done has exposed the elitism and hypocrisy that appears inherent in the business. Every other contender this season has had the benefit of multi-million dollar campaigns promoting their performances. Blanchett, Yeoh, de Armas, Davis, Deadwyler, Robbie have been on the campaign trail and received countless mentions on Twitter etc from their celebrity friends hailing their work, for almost the entirety of 2022. Every other day you checked Twitter you saw celebrities promoting their work. But when a relatively unknown actress is nominated without any of this financial promotion it’s a problem that warrants investigation…the status quo threatened. Riseborough’s nomination is an unprecedented victory for independent cinema against the corporate machine giants of major film studios, and their stranglehold over every awards race. Sometimes the payola doesn’t pay off. My ballot this year would have been: 1. Zar Amir Ebrahimi 2. Ana de Armas 3. Michelle Yeoh 4. Andrea Riseborough 5. Danielle Deadwyler (I wouldn’t even bother putting Blanchett as she was the strongest position)

Darling, I love you… this is exactly what I had in mind. The hypocrisy across the board is nauseating.
