I actually loved this episode. Bradley’s manager speech was powerful and Aniston dragging her daughter was everything. The supporting characters are finally getting interesting.

Joker would win Best Popular Movie if that category existed.
ReplyNovember 27, 2019 at 4:31 pm #1203206463I’ve just finished the season and I’m whelmed.
It started very strongly. The premiere was great and episode 2 and 3 are among the show’s best episodes (if the not the best episodes of the entire series). Ep 4 was nice. But after that the downfall begins. Ep 5 is terrible. I thought it would be the worst episode of the show until I watched Ep 7 which is not only bad but also a complete bore. Ep 6 was great but it doesn’t erase the fact it’s in between those messy episodes. The rest of the season was more classic but something was missing for me. The final has nice moments though (I love anything related to Margaret anyway).
I’m not even sure if we can call Helena Bonham-Carter a supporting actress in this. After the first 2/3 episodes she disappears and only has cameo appareances here and there. If the Emmys’ eligibility were based on screentime, she would be considered as a Guest Actress. Josh O’Connor is featured in less episodes but has way more presence in the show.
Olivia Colman is great but I wouldn’t call her performance undeniable either. She does feel like a background character most of the times in her own show. It’s not Olivia’s fault, of course.
Ultimately I might think this could be the worst season? The production and acting were amazing but the writing was very inconsistent. I’m still very excited about s4 because the material is juicier, but I’m worried Olivia and HBC (especially her), will be even less proeminent.

Ultimately the show is really at its best whenever Jennifer Aniston is on screen. The supporting characters are not really interesting and even Bradley lacks something. The writers are trying too hard with her.

Yeah this. She would be a great winner but she didn’t do much more than her competition. We can hardly say she is better in episode 3 than Nicole Kidman during the trial scenes (I’m not talking about the ones with Streep, but the ones in which Celeste basically gets slut shamed).
ReplyNovember 18, 2019 at 4:04 am #1203184394They own Fox but do you think they wouldn’t allow them to go to Netflix? Cause I don’t see them having new seasons on Disney+
I don’t see any reasons why FX would cancel the show when it’s their top performer anyway. And even if they do cancel it, it could move to Hulu. I doubt Disney would let Netflix have it. Ryan Murphy asked scream queens fans to message Fox network because he can’t revive it on Netflix even if he wants to, so I assume it would be the same situation for AHS.

ReplyNovember 17, 2019 at 1:43 pm #1203183617The entire series is already on Netflix… AGAIN Disney would have no control over this show!
Yes they would, they produce it.
ReplyNovember 17, 2019 at 9:38 am #1203183267Josh O’Connor isn’t in the first 5 episodes? So he could go guest at Emmys?
ReplyNovember 12, 2019 at 4:13 pm #1203176583I stopped HoC after the first episode of s2. It bored me to death (not that particular episode which was good).
November 11, 2019 at 3:52 am #1203174207Is anyone predicting Meryl? I think the majority agrees she will just be nominated and that’s it. Her only chance at winning is if Dern is snubbed.
