Omg the exposé here…I should go to movies threads more often.
OT : Birdman is incredibly boring.June 23, 2019 at 5:02 am #1202948504
I have Regina King in guest because they love her.June 22, 2019 at 8:17 am #1202947949
I just saw a very cringe Chernobyl commercial that focused entirely on its IMDB rating. So whether we like it or not it’s definitely one of its selling points, especially now that HBO has decided to construct their promotional material around it.
I hope they will also use IMDb ratings to push GoT s8…oh wait.June 22, 2019 at 5:10 am #1202947774
Lol am I the only one having dead to me ads on this site now? Also it seems like they are pushing Linda Cardellini and not Christina Applegate.June 21, 2019 at 5:42 pm #1202947538
The odds will quickly change once Ozark blows up in the nominations.
Or it won’t because no one cares about that show and season 2 only has like 58 on metacritic. I think we could be overestimating Ozark based on last year actually, because season 2 was poorly received.June 21, 2019 at 5:40 pm #1202947534
I was thinking and I would really love for Frances Conroy to get that #6 spot in supporting actress. It’s a mystery who’s gonna take that spot. But let me not get ahead of myself, Headey, Williams, Garner, Watson and Seehorn might not all be locks. This is the toughest category to predict, hopefully it won’t feature any filler boring nominees like Chrissy Metz or/and Fiona Shaw.
I’m predicting AHS to do better than expected. Sarah Paulson in actress, Jessica Lange and Connie Britton in guest, and one of Kathy Bates/Frances Conroy in supporting actress. I have neither right now because I don’t know which one to predict. If they name check one of them, it’s Bates, if they have actually watched the season, then it’s Conroy.June 21, 2019 at 5:35 pm #1202947532
Harris is winning Best Actor, you’ll see.June 20, 2019 at 2:53 pm #1202946006
Apparently some voters plan to vote for When They See Us just to stick it to Trump. Chernobyl would have swept International Emmys but I’m not sure about these ones anymore…
Interesting and not surprinsing actually. But Chernobyl is also getting political with russians calling it a lie.June 20, 2019 at 11:20 am #1202945752
I don’t think Fleabag has a chance to make it into Comedy Series (this year anyway). I think the buzz is too new (similar to Killing Eve last year). It has enough to garner some acting noms and/or writing… but not a Series nom (yet).
This was the last season of Fleabag, it’s not returning.June 20, 2019 at 7:57 am #1202945497
I have replaced Emma Stone with Julianna Marguilies, I don’t believe in Joey King getting in.June 20, 2019 at 7:56 am #1202945493
TrashLine, oops I meant TVLine, have posted their dream nominees for this year’s Emmys and in drama supporting actress they have Aubra McDonald for The Good Fight. Was she good? I mean, even if she was she’d probably miss out anyways ’cause they couldn’t care less about the show but she’s past Emmy nominee (also winner as producer) and she got in in 2016 for that movie/special which received no other nominations. Could she get name-checked into that #6 spot?
I think she already was a series regular in the show last year and didn’t get in so… and surprisingly, TVLine’s dream nominees weren’t bad this year overall lol.
I think Pose is being underestimated here. I have it getting into series, actor, actress and supporting actress.
I’m confident in Series and Best Actor. I also have Indya Moore at the moment, but I don’t think there is any room for MJ Rodriguez. If she gets in, I would dare to say Pose would become a threat to win Best Drama Series.June 20, 2019 at 4:52 am #1202945242
If someone pulls an upset, I think it’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Or maybe Fleabag could even win Best Comedy. The buzz it has gained in the industry seems to be pretty high. TCA nominations were another indicator of that.
