It should have been nominated in limited series. It even got more nominations than The Dropout and Inventing Anna. Makes no sense to me.
The voters went basic when picking those two over Station Eleven and Maid.
In a interview conducted with Paul Raci, they mention he’s rooting for CODA. Troy and Raci are very close so the more detached response in that EW ballot was already a red flag as was the assumption that Raci has been part of high profile films. The desperation around here is getting embarasssing.

I get preferences vary and I respect that, but boring, disappointing, uninspired, underwhelming are certainly very tone deaf adjectives to use for a historic moment where we have our first latina and queer woman of color winner here at SAG and potentially the first openly out acting winner at the Oscars, giving one of the most acclaimed…[Read more]

Euphoria is in the same boat as Big Little Lies in my eyes. Not because of all the stuff people said above or the increased viewership or the viral moments but also because of the rotten behind the scenes drama. Every week there’s a new story about how toxic it all is with Levinson and the cast and crew. That bad buzz can be very damaging, even if…[Read more]

I think it would be disingenuous to say that when it’s not really the episode that is being dissected or analyzed. Any conversation generated around it has been because of that cut to black ending and there isn’t much else to it. That is not a worthy argument to support its win as a writing achievement. You have Lost right there if you want to…[Read more]

It’s still very early but isn’t that what’s happening at the critics awards?
Washington DC: Directing + Acting + Adapted Screenplay but not Picture
NYFCC: Directing + two acting wins + most likely screenplay if it’s split like at the oscars but not Picture
Atlanta: Directing + two acting awards + cinematography + strongest adapted screenplay…[Read more]
With S2 I was eager to get to the next episode, this season has felt more like an obligation to me. Not a single episode this season would be in my top 10 for this show. Individually there are still great scenes occasionally but at the end of any episode, it always ends up being less than the sum of its parts. Things move forward plot wise but…[Read more]
Not to be overly harsh, but to me, that is mostly because most of the outrage always comes across as performative, intentionally or not. Just a couple of pages ago people seemed to be arguing over whose favourite show was less ‘white’ for instance.
It’s a very myopic view of the situation when representation only seems to become an issue in the…[Read more]
While I do get where you are coming from, that’s a very false equivalence imo. Someone who is very much not into heteronormative stuff and openly supports things that challenge it (contrary to Couverture, the chest binder thing was a big talking point, at least in my community) is not really comparable to the person who says she leads an…[Read more]
Everyone will be happy if this happens:
Actress: Jean Smart
Actor: Jason Sudeikis
Supporting Actress: Hannah Waddingham
Supporting Actor: Tituss Burgess through write-in votes
Directing: The Flight Attendant
In a forum filled primarily with gay men, it’s no surprise that such comments are regularly made to demean and belittle certain women and everyone will turn a blind eye to it. Certain is the key word here because you would not see the same reaction or treatment if it involved someone in favor with the crowd here. There shouldn’t be more outrage…[Read more]

I swear I’ve seen no one talk about this show outside of these forums so color me surprised.

I think Sarah Snook can win at Critics Choice if she’s run as a lead like last time. I would also watch out for Rosamund Pike if The Wheel of Time is acclaimed. Mj Rodriguez is still looking likely as the frontrunner for the time being.
As the frontrunner in the series winner, Corrin doesn’t need to have buzz to win. The ones who need it are the people looking to overtake her, to upset the frontrunner, specially when a large part of that upset narrative is built on the (growing) buzz of the contender.
With Zendaya there was a sense of an imminent win there, getting likelier as…[Read more]
