I would agree that she is overdue for a nomination, especially when Wildlife flew completely under the radar. Her performance in PYW is absolutely worthy of a nomination and win (and I hope it happens), but I don’t think the industry will feel compelled to award her a la Julianne Moore. If she wins for PYW it will be on merit, which is a good thing.

I agree. That’s the reason I haven’t committed to removing yet either. I’m a massive fan of the old Hollywood classics and Mank was my most highly anticipated film of the year. With each passing day, I’m feeling there is going to be a snub of one or more between Mank, News of the World and One Night in Miami, in favor of Sound of Metal, Promising Young Woman or Judas and the Black Messiah.

Personally, Mank is the film that just feels lackluster to me that I could see really being left off in the end.

Late to the game, but 100% interested, especially on the film front.

The fact that Oliver beat 2001: A Space Odyssey is still painful.

Park So-dam gave one of my favorite Supporting Actress performances of the year. I was disappointed by the lack of conversation surrounding her. She absolutely deserved a nomination.

I personally connected more with Roma, however I adore both films and both are in my top of the decade list.

I think this is a possibility with how well Jojo has been performing lately, but I think the compressed season isn’t allowing for a shift in momentum in the acting categories. I would love to see Scarjo win, but I have to predict Dern.
