What I really complain about most of these lists is their lack of diversity. Many of the omnipresent albums (Kanye’s and Kendrick’s) are actually very good or even great, but it would be nice to see some more unusual choices from time to time. Colin Stetson, Julia Holter, Laura Marling, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Autechre are just the first…[Read more]
Atlanta, Hannibal, Twin Peaks: The Return, The Leftovers, The Americans, Better Call Saul, You’re the Worst, Justified.
I have not seen Rectify nor Halt and Catch Fire, which look promising on paper.

There’s a thing with i,i. Even though i’m a fan and consider it the best album of the bunch, and not a minor effort in Bon Iver’s discography, I do recognize that this is not the majority’s opinion. Also, i,i will not fare well in year-end list, i believe (Father of the Bride will do better, I think).
This is not a Morning Phase case: i,i it’s not…[Read more]
It happens every year, but this time the thing is even more evident than usual: Alternative Album is by far the category with the highest quality. Especially delighted for UFOF, but every album deserves to win here – except for Father of the Bride. Which is the one that will end up with the trophy, lol.

I wasn’t expecting to have an album I really like in this category, so I’m already happy with the nominations. To me, i,i is easily the best album of the bunch. I really can’t imagine seeing it winning though.
If confirmed, this is my favourite year-end list so far.
Agree with @mafro987, as usual. I find it pretty clear that The Crown is better, in more “objective terms”: there’s not much to criticize about it, you can dissect every single episode, storyline, arc, direction and so on and still, the flaws just aren’t that many. “Competent” is probably the word I’d use to describe it.

I agree that the finale was somehow flawed, in the sense that some moments were cheesy and not much more. But the highs were very, very high, enough to make it a good if not great ending.
I’m sorry to repeat myself, but I’d like to point out that even in its many problems I’ve never seen an episode from this show that left me uninterested. This…[Read more]
Interesting enough, I actually really liked the last episode. It wasn’t as funny as others, but its narrative was costantly engaging. I never fel bored or uninterested!
I am very satisfied with this season. While there hasn’t been a single super memorable episode, every one was never less than good – most were also very good and some simply…[Read more]
Second and third episode were not as great as the first one, I admit that, but they were still very good and I’m fully satisfied with this season so far. I can’t really compare it with the previous ones because I watched them too many years ago, but I’d say it’s up to their standars.
