Some of my favourite things, without any order: Hannibal; Godspeed You! Black Emperor; Miles Davis; Virginia Woolf; Lost; Radiohead; Massive Attack; The lord of the rings; Middle Age (as an historical period); Tennis.

Good topic! I thought I could reward diversity, but then I looked at the limited number of episodes aired in 2018 that I watched and decided to pick the very bests, even if they come from the same shows:
– The Burrito, The Good Place
– Somewhere Else, The Good Place
– Teddy Perkins, Atlanta
– North of the Borders, Atlanta
– FUBU, Atlanta
– A…[Read more]
Well, to be precise: she has 2 wins from 5 nominations overall. He has 5 wins out of 10 nominations. So they’re not very close in terms of previous Grammy success, even though she’s younger and she certainly can catch him up sooner or later. It’s not that, though. I feel like her album, while acclaimed, has been forgotten by pretty much…[Read more]
I updated my predictions in AOTY. Now I have:
1. Dirty Computer
2. Invasion of Privacy
3. Everything Is Love
5. From a Room: Volume 2
6. The Thrill of It All
7. Come Tomorrow
8. High As Hope
I’m not particularly convinced to be perfectly honest and I really wish to be wrong, since I don’t love any of the 5 albums I’ve listened…[Read more]
The Americans in every single category, if I had to pick one: Keri Russell in Drama Actress
Twin Peaks in every category, if I had to pick one: David Lynch in Directing
Ted Danson in Comedy Actor
Atlanta in Comedy Series
These are the ones that really obsess me (Danson maybe at a smaller extent)
Marco B. replied to the topic What will the Comedy/Drama main acting category repeats be? in the forum Television 4 days, 18 hours ago
I think there won’t be so much support for Atlanta to be honest. If from one side it’s the most acclaimed “”””comedy”””” of the year and it feels very important and relevant, on the other part it doesn’t seem like the kind of thing Emmy voters would embrace – too weird and too daring. Probably too acclaimed not to be recognized in nominations, but…[Read more]
I’m completely uninterested in this new category. My main concerns are:
1) Less screen time for tech categories. I get all the very practical reasons, but it still goes to the opposite direction of the right one. The Academy should underline, not hide, the fact that a great film is not made by a single genius mind but by a teams of dozens if not…[Read more]
You just have to ask Teridax, lol! Yes, considering only these two categories I think Russell is much stronger overall than Foy and it’s a performance for the ages. I don’t watch enough television in comparison to the quantity of the offer, so I’m sure I’m missing many extraordinary performances but two I’m particularly fond of were offered by…[Read more]
Thanks for the very kind comment. I did watch the entire series, so I must be an idiot. Mine wasn’t even a negative post – i said they’re both good performances -, I don’t see any need to be aggressive.
I voted for Foy. I just wanted to add that I don’t think these two are extraordinary performances; I think both are very good, that’s all. They would make good winners but not memorable ones. I thought Foy raised her level in season 2 and found her overall more convincing than Kirkby.
The rare time I do well with any sort of prediction, I don’t really want to hide it lol.
But I’m super happy for The Americans! I think it’s not enough to push the two leads to an upset, to be honest, but I’m finally predicting it for Writing. The Emmys will never love this show, but it’s become too important and acclaimed to be completely ignored.
Lol, I’ve watched 7 films of 2018 so far.
Best Actor: Marcello Fonte, Dogman
Best Actress: Valeria Golino and Alba Rohrwacher, Figlia Mia
I wouldn’t go further for the moment, no great supporting players so far.
Don’t know whether it’s already been asked recently (in this case, just ignore it), but: favourite movies of the year so far and why?
I don’t even know if I ever have even predicted these awards. Oh, I’ll go with the six main categories, just for fun.
Outstanding Achievement in Comedy: The Good Place
Outstanding Achievement in Drama: The Americans
Individual Achievement in Comedy: Rachel Brosnahan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Individual Achievement in Drama: Keri Russell, The…[Read more]

Dear Academy members, please throw a nomination at Radu Jude’s film. It would be about time to recognize Romanian cinema.
I remember that moment so well, I’ve watched it multiple times! I thought she was so unprofessional. She started with a low tone for the first nominees, then suddenly her voice arose to say the names of Harrelson and McCounaghey and then she lowered herself once again for the last nominees, Spacey. And she was so disappointed to read Cranston as…[Read more]
Marco B. replied to the topic Who is the MVP from Game of Thrones: Lena Headey or Peter Dinklage? in the forum Television 1 week, 6 days ago
Dinklage is the better actor.
I didn’t think season 6 was bad, but it obviously wasn’t at the the levels of the previous one and it was messy. I remember really liking Matt Czuchry in it though, i hoped they would nominate him. Season 7 is probably at the same level, so be prepared, even though I loved the finale.
