Some of my favourite things, without any order: Hannibal; Godspeed You! Black Emperor; Miles Davis; Virginia Woolf; Lost; Radiohead; Massive Attack; The lord of the rings; Middle Age (as an historical period); Tennis.

Today we were asked by our teacher (the course I’m currently following is Contemporary Languages, which is about every kind of language and interaction used on social media today) to become trolls for a day on some forum or online community and I didn’t even think of Goldderby as a possibility, even though it’d have been quite easy – especially in…[Read more]
I think When I Get Home needs multiple listens to be fully appreciated. It definitely isn’t an accessible record, by any means, therefore I don’t understand why it should be compared with average pop albums, nor it should be valued with the same criteria we judge a Beyonce or Lady Gaga’s work with. It’s also not as rewarding as A Seat at the…[Read more]
Am I the only one who loved last episode even though it almost didn’t feature Jimmy or Gretchen at all? Call Me By Your Name + The Handmaid’s Tale in less than 25 minutes, things got weird but in the best possible way!

This time we’ll agree to disagree. I think Bohemian Rhapsody’s editing is “only” plain mediocre, while Vice’s is much more vicious than that – because it presents itself as some sort of original and intelligent (in its irony) feature while it actually is one of the key element of the failure of the movie – it helps Vice being not the parodic…[Read more]
Interesting that some highlighted Bohemian Rhapsody in Editing as one of the worst wins. It absolutely didn’t deserve the trophy (nor a nomination), but I can’t completely hate a pick that at least managed to block an even worse winner, Vice!
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/oscars-2019-watch-around-world-1187818 I was looking at this link, can’t you watch that Canal+ online?
In any case, I think you can find some streaming for the American ABC channel quite easily…
Updated with the newest episode, which was the best of the season so far. Nothing can be as discomforting as You’re the Worst in its peak. Aya Cash should be a multiple Emmy winner by now, but things got the wrong direction; hopefully she’ll be recognized as the great actress that she is in the future, at least.
One thing, it’s always been…[Read more]
What (mildly) intrigues me about Ariana Grande is the fact that her albums (well, the two I’ve listened to so far: Sweetener and thank u next) make more sense as a whole than when fractured in single songs. In fact, I still haven’t found an Ariana song that I thought to be iconic or memorable; and this is especially true when referred to thank u…[Read more]

Great actor with a few legendary roles. Wings of Desire is a personal favourite and an extraordinary film that looks as radically new now as it did when it was originally released. Glad to see that he’s been at the top of his game until the very end – haven’t seen The House That Jack Built which could be a complete disaster, but at least…[Read more]
Marco B. replied to the topic How would you rank this year's oscar-nominated performances? in the forum Movies 1 month ago
Interesting how Defoe is only either very up in the ranking or extremely low. My raking belongs to the first category, can someone from the opposite opinion explain why his performance would be a poor one?
Thanks. And Colors, while inferior to MASSEDUCTION, is a more than fine album. Some people take Beck as just some overrated older white dude, and they tend to forget that he’s a legend.
This renewed popularity that Beck’s having in these years is particularly pleasant. Hopefully it can push more people towards some of the most iconic records produced in the 90’s/early 2000’s by him.
Am I the only one left watching the show? I don’t get why last episode is one of the lowest-rated on IMDB, I think it finally points towards an actual direction after ep 3 and 4 were somehow a bit unfocused, even though they were funny indeed. Overall good season so far, but I’m not impressed yet.

1. The Favourite
3. Black Panther
5. Green Book
6. A Star is Born
7. Bohemian Rhapsody
Note that there isn’t so much difference within the first 4 movie, for istance. The only sure thing is that Vice is terrible.
