April 12, 2022 at 5:52 am #1204914147Having finally seen the finale I think a more open and ambiguous ending would have been the best solution. Killing Villanelle for shock value after those moments of pure happiness felt so wrong and cruel. Really made me feel like shit and I’m not even a big fan of the show. I get why the audience is mad. Despite being an assassin, Villanelle is still a traumatized character who gets killed immediately after finally finding an ounce of peace and serenity. She never really had a chance to be free or lead a normal life because the Twelve has been controlling her since she was a child. When she’s killing them at the end she’s taking her life and freedom back. Having her offed after all of this felt like a huge betrayal.
PREACH.

my thoughts on killing eve's ending – its betrayal of eve & of its queer narrative pic.twitter.com/X4sNlMKTHp

so ur trying to tell me that villanelle, one of the best characters the world has ever been blessed with and the love of eve’s life, was—in laura’s eyes—just a catalyst for eve to… what? go dark and burn her life down then realize she actually wants to be normal again? ok

Laura saying this finale is Eve’s rebirth and that Villanelle takes joy in butchering people… She really didn’t understand a thing about these characters and this story. My god.
They could have simply followed the books, this isn’t some George RR Martin situation…

April 10, 2022 at 7:58 am #1204911018I mean… how could they be that lame, and also, not very smart? After the GOT backlash, they should have expect and ending like this – rushed, unsatisfying, lazy, cruel to the main characters – to have a bad reception.
Villanelle has had a great evolution and this is how you end their arc? The most over-used twist just for shock value? And Eve? Yeah, the show has killed Eve, because now Eve has nothing to live for…

March 27, 2022 at 9:24 am #1204878995A bit OT but this thing is sending me, italian headlines are saying that tonight “it’s DOG vs CODA”: in italian coda means tail so they’re basically saying “it’s dog vs tail” 🤣 (Yeah, this season took a lot out of me)

March 21, 2022 at 7:49 am #1204864239If Troy’s BAFTA win cemented his frontrunner status, ’cause it’s clear that the SAG, Critics and BAFTA winner is the undeniable frontrunner, why Luca or any of us that were rooting for Kodi would go on disputing that?
Kodi started the industry award season as the critics favorite and he got a Globe win. He had many things going on for him, while Kotsur and CODA were far behind, but their latest surge has changed the picture and we’re not delusional about it, why should we?
If you take pleasure in gloating because our favorite supporting actor is not the projected winner anymore, well, that’s self-explanatory. But Luca, as many of us Kodi supporters, has never disrespected anothers who were rooting for a different contender (a behaviour often displayed by pundits like Zoe Bryant on Twitter). So enough with the spite.

March 13, 2022 at 6:56 pm #1204848192Time for a reminder of that age-old adage, “Just because your fave doesn’t win doesn’t mean that the actual winner is unworthy!” #Oscars #CriticsChoiceAwards

Wonder if she’d say the same if Kodi was still the frontrunner… (No shade to Troy, just to some pundits hating on Smit-McPhee all season)

March 13, 2022 at 2:03 pm #1204846454I’m so sad for both Kodi and Benedict. Phil Burbank and Peter Gordon are characters for the ages: so complex and nuanced. I think they deserved at least one major televised speech.
Yeah, I agree. I’m particularly sad for Kodi who won one big industry award, the Globe, which was the only one not to be televised. He couldn’t make “a case” for himself through an appropriate speech

March 11, 2022 at 2:14 pm #1204841615I hope he wins the BAFTA: he deserves it. TPOTD’s Twitter account retweeted Luca’s story ! And…
OMG that’s marvelous!!! Congrats Luca 🥰 I’m so happy Kodi knows so many people and experts are rooting for him!

February 28, 2022 at 7:56 am #1204823919I am baffled by this episode. Why does Eve behave like that with Villanelle? The relationship had an upgrade last season, they acknowledged their mutual pining and they part ways graciously. Also this new obsession with faith on Villanelle’s side is almost too campy, but Jodie is fucking great as always. I’m so hoping she’ll find a big cinema project soon.

February 28, 2022 at 7:18 am #1204823840Naomi Watts, Diane Keaton, Julianne Moore and others congratulating Chastain under her Instagram post… She does have a strong support, I’d be so happy if she pulls this through.

February 28, 2022 at 6:20 am #1204823745I don’t know what the fuck Kodi has done to Neglia and his clowns. Its almost like he turned down interview requests (which probably isn’t the case) from any of them.
Yeah it’s shameful, I don’t understand them, but they do hate TPOTD (see tweets in which they say that Sag did the best thing this year). Makes you root for Kodi even more, with due respect to Kotsur…
