6 seasons too late but Alfie Allen is an Emmy nominated actor. My purpose on this site (and in my life to a certain extent) has ended. So glad him, van Houten and Christie looked out for themselves as self-submitters. HBO owes it to them for helping to break the record.
I blocked out everyone else out when I saw Alfie’s name. Very, very overdue.July 2, 2019 at 1:42 am #1202958784
It was still Martin’s idea to have Bran as the king and D&D didn’t know what to do with it. Because freaking Bran. He’s a creep devoid of any human emotion. Everyone in court will be like “What is wrong with him?” I’m sure that the transition will be more logical in the books but it’s still stupid.
King Bran ruined the books for me as well because the overall message is so depressing and bleak. GoT has always been about the struggle between human good & human evil. An emotionless and all-knowing demigod being king leads to the belief that the solution to human evil isn’t human good but not being human. We’re doomed from the start because of our emotions and unfit to rule. I wasn’t expecting something happy from cynical Martin but still…May 1, 2019 at 7:19 am #1202875615
I highly doubt Jaime or Tyrion are going to kill Cersei. That’s too predictable.April 29, 2019 at 2:53 am #1202871683
You guys, I’m genuinely shook. Props to HBO for really not having plot leaked. Every “leak” out there was debunked. None claimed NK was gonna die, he would either just pay a visit mid battle and kidnap Bran lmao or head right to KL (which didn’t make sense anyways). Theon protecting Bran and dying was accurate, also Dany falling off off Drogon. For the latter people claimed she fell cause she is pregnant and she’d be examined later in the episode and find out. She wasn’t gonna believe it and then she’d have some cheesy dialogue with Jon where she’d call him Aegon and ask him to continue the Targaryen line cause she can’t have children lmaooo. I’m so glad it didn’t happen. I’m done with “leaks” anyways.
Actually someone whose family member worked on set in Ireland was spot on about the episode. He leaked everything about 4 months ago and he even knew about Arya doing the leap and killing the NK. He also said what’s going to happen to Dany in the next episodes.April 22, 2019 at 1:41 am #1202861562
This. And her reaction in that scene. She’s so obsessed with the iron throne and she looks still mad next episode. I think they’re building her up to go mad or something. Honestly Daenerys’ ending is the most interesting to theorize about.
I really don’t know what to make of Daenerys anymore. In an interview the episode’s writer Bryan Cogman said that Jon was taken aback that all Dany cared about in the heat of the moment was the Iron throne. Jon expected more empathy and understanding from her but she’s taking the reveal and making it all about her. I think he wanted to renounce the throne but her reaction made him change his mind.April 17, 2019 at 8:55 am #1202856618
Actually, it makes total sense. 1. He has been killed already. 2. Foreshadowing: he told Melisandre to never resurrect him again if he dies. 3. He is a war king. He’s only real purpose is his involvement in the great war. Outside of that, he can’t rule. Sansa is being built up as the ruler in the North, so after the war is over, I don’t see any purpose for Jon to live. Dany right now is being set up to fail, but I see her redeeming herself in the end. Dany’s arc has been about ruling so, if there is a throne to sit on, it should be her sitting on the throne in the end. She’s about breaking the wheel – it is very possible that she will be the last of her dynasty (she won’t ever have children) before the kingdom goes into some progressive form of government that Tyrion will govern.
Guess you haven’t seen the leaks.April 15, 2019 at 12:54 pm #1202854392
This is somewhat frustrating because Dany is the only character that behave in a way that a ruler from the middle age would behave. Dany was right to punished the Tarlys, and by the way book Randy Tarly would never had betrayed House Tyrell and fight against House Targaryen. There’s another issue with whom is the rightful heir of the Iron Throne, in the book The World Of Ice & Fire is clearly said that King Aerys named Prince Viserys as his heir when he send him to Dragonstone, this is before Rhaegar’s death. Viserys named Daenerys as heir and Princess of Dragonstone, of curse this is all book stuff and there still the thing of a woman being a ruler and that’s why at least the books about The Dance of Dragons.
Wasn’t Rhaegar dead when Aerys made his decision? He named Viserys the new heir after Rhaegar died in the Battle of the Trident, it does not say anything about removing Rhaegar from the line of succession while he was alive. He never disinherited Rhaegar.April 15, 2019 at 10:32 am #1202854077
True. Even when Sansa asked how are they going to feed the army and the dragons everyone was like whatever.February 25, 2019 at 4:29 am #1202793177
LOL. I seriously doubt ROMA was runner-up for Best Picture. With that preferential ballot? – Netflix hate and bias? LOW RANKING. – Whisper campaigns? LOW RANKING – The film not being a “family viewing” kinda thing? Slowwww? The ones who didn’t like it? LOW RANKING. Nope. It’s win on the first round or bust for ROMA. It is not the type of film that plays on a preferential ballot.
So which one do you think was the runner-up? BP, BR or Blackkklansman?February 25, 2019 at 3:41 am #1202793087
I think this is the correct BP order after what happened last night.
