Bradley should and will win. Rami Malek deserves a Razzie.
This is the dumbest thing I’ve read in this thread. No one thinks that except for you ASIB stans. There is barely any love for Cooper’s performance from the critics or the industry.January 15, 2019 at 4:49 am #1202734856
I am really annoyed with Critics Choice giving Christian Bale two wins. I am remembering last year when Gary Oldman won for his technically proficient but emotionally boring performance in Darkest Hour (which was expected) instead of the emotionally satisfying better performance by Timothee Chalamet in Call Me By Your Name. This year Christian Bale gives a technically proficient (he impersonates Dick Cheney well) performance that is emotionally unsatisfying while Rami Malek gives a far better superior performance that is both technically proficient and more importantly far more emotionally satisfying. Why do the voters do this? It’s true that I did not like the subject matter of Vice, which is not a bias it’s an opinion, but Christian Bale is already an Oscar winner, and Rami Malek gives the BETTER PERFORMANCE. If it really is Bale vs. Malek and Cooper isn’t really in it then it better be Malek that wins. I will continue to predict Malek unless the nitwits in SAG and BAFTA go with Bale. In which case I simply won’t watch the Best Actor category. I say this as someone who likes Christian Bale and have liked him since Empire of the Sun (1987). I still believe that Rami Malek will win, as he should. (Please, this is not an opportunity to attack me. If you believe Bale should win make your case without attacking anyone else’s opinion).
It’s usually the same with this category. The sensitive and emotional performances are most of the time overlooked in favor of technical and heavy-handed ones. I’m starting to hate these awards.January 14, 2019 at 5:57 am #1202733554
Most SAG voters I’ve heard from are going for Bale. I’m afraid this is over for Rami but he’s very talented and no doubt he’ll win some day.January 12, 2019 at 5:17 am #1202730658

That’s actually dualistic. Cause that particular win attracted backlash against the movie, while, if only Malek himself won, everything would be more smoothly.
I don’t think it will affect him as much as some of you think or hope but that remains to be seen. I’m perfectly fine with Bale winning as well.January 10, 2019 at 2:41 pm #1202729268
This is so boring. All the SJW should just drop dead. We need to start to separate the Art from the persons. The mediocre Shallow song should not be discarded because Lady GaGa worked with R Kelly or any other pervert, Bohemian Rhapsody shouldn’t be judge by the allegations (true or false) against Bryan Singer, Green Book should not be penalized because some dick pranks that Peter Farrelly did decades ago and that everybody knew about it for 20 years and took it for what it was, a stupid prank, neither should the Screenplay of the same film be snubbed because some twit from Vallelonga from four years ago.
I agree but this is too much of an evolved concept for some people here.January 10, 2019 at 1:50 pm #1202729211
^ I’m so torn between Malek and Bale. I have no idea which one to predict for SAG.January 10, 2019 at 7:09 am #1202728730
But I’m not ready to dismiss Cooper just yet. Not only is ASIB 9/9 with the guilds but Cooper is 4/4. He may very well net Oscar nominations 5, 6, 7, and 8 come January 22nd. All in this decade – including his 4th acting nod, which I think would make him second only to Streep for most acting noms this decade. That’s impressive any way you cut it and clearly indicates some level of industry support and that he is liked/respected among his peers.
With Harvey’s help.January 9, 2019 at 6:25 am #1202727284
People talk about the Gaga stans on here, but come on, the Queen stans are just as obnoxious. People are acting like Malek is the end-all of actors. I hope Bale takes BAFTA
Since when liking a performance makes you a stan? For fuck sakes stop using this word. I like both Bale and Malek’s performances but I think Malek has the advantage at BAFTA.January 9, 2019 at 4:06 am #1202727157
Gaga lost just one award but Cooper lost three. That’s a bigger statement. Maybe she still has a chance at SAG but no way he’s coming back from this. It’s between Malek and Bale for Actor.January 8, 2019 at 1:18 pm #1202726188
Those experts who are still predicting Cooper to win something.January 7, 2019 at 7:20 am #1202724085
Look at all those users who were bashing and demeaning Gaga like there’s no tomorrow and now they say she was robbed and Close won because she was old/due.January 7, 2019 at 6:45 am #1202724046
So happy for these two. I hope we’ll get a repeat at the Oscars.
I can’t believe they pulled this off when all the odds were against them. Everyone was just shoving Gaga and Cooper down our throats. That’s genuine happiness on their faces, you can tell they were as surprised as we were. Best Golden Globes acting winners in a long time.
