Can we jump to the Grammy 2021? It will be more interesting.September 26, 2019 at 11:10 am #1203105163
Post Malone will lose everything again.September 26, 2019 at 11:06 am #1203105143
This delusion. “Sunflower” is an absolute smash (already on the Hot 100 All-Time list) and was a hit on multiple radio formats. It also has a ton of industry support from multiple artists. Mr. Malone has everything on Gaga!
Selma – John Legend & Common for “Glory” (WINNER)
Fifty Shades of Grey – Belly, Deheala, Stephan Moccio, & The Weeknd for “Earned It”
Fifty Shades of Grey – Ilya, Savan Kotecha, Max Martin, Tove Lo, & Ali Payami for “Love Me like You Do”
Furious 7 – Andrew Cedar, DJ Frank E, Wiz Khalifa, & Charlie Puth for “See You Again”September 26, 2019 at 11:03 am #1203105126
Why would Post Malone win BSWFVM? So many huge hits lost in this decadeSeptember 26, 2019 at 10:58 am #1203105117
I see Aretha winning Best Music Film over Bruce and Beyoncé.September 26, 2019 at 10:26 am #1203104993
Bruno Mars swept the GF with his most forgettable era but I agree Taylor’s fans are delusional believing she’s gonna be a factor this year when really nobody cares about Lover
That’s What I Like is probably Bruno’s third biggest hit, Lover doesn’t have that factor.September 26, 2019 at 10:21 am #1203104970
If Lover gets AOTY Taylor joins Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra as the only people who won AOTY 3 times (correct me if I’m wrong). Do you guys actually think they will give her this title? Seems unlikely to me
They probably want Adele for that.September 26, 2019 at 10:18 am #1203104954
Taylor Swift lost SOTY with You Belong with Me, Shake it Off and Blank Space, her biggest hits, why do her fans think she’ll win for a forgettable song? lolSeptember 19, 2019 at 5:59 am #1203086295
Jay-Z has won 14 this decade, so he’s ahead of them. Beyoncé has also won 13. Next in line would be Bruno Mars (11), Taylor Swift (10), and Pharrell Williams (10).
The Academy considers the 2010 Grammy Awards (2008-2009 releases) won as the 2000s (https://www.grammy.com/grammys/news/beyonc%C9%u9-u2-top-4-grammy-winners-2000s). Jay-Z has won 11 this decade, Beyoncé has won 7, Taylor has won 6.
Adele – 13
Kendrick Lamar – 13
Bruno Mars – 11
Jay-Z – 11
Pharrell Williams – 10September 18, 2019 at 7:39 pm #1203085724
Adele and Kendrick Lamar are the artists won the most GRAMMY Awards in the ‘2010s (each won 13). Who completes the top 5? Bruno Mars, Skrillex?September 7, 2019 at 8:14 am #1203061798
That’s what I’m curious about – will Adele ever get tired of being associated with heartbreak? She’s joked about it before, about how everyone cries to her music, but at the same time, no artist has ever wanted to be artistically boxed. When she announced her split, the general reaction was ‘OMG I can’t wait for all the sad songs!’ … but what if she delivers the opposite? What if her new album, which People says will be released before the end of the year, isn’t at all what you’re expecting and is instead a collection of songs that make you want to dance? People’s headline is about how, right now, she’s “perky as hell”. “Perky” is not a word usually associated with her music.
I see her doing something like Emeli Sandé’s ‘Heaven’.
If Adele changes her typical sound and gets critical and popular approval, I don’t see why they would deny her their third AOTY.September 3, 2019 at 1:40 pm #1203056034
The link I posted said the person got them from GoldDerby. The Sharon person you’re quoting says on the very same page you linked that they misremembered certain information, and that was also a year after “Skyfall” was entered, so just drop it, you’re wrong.
“I want to provide the most accurate submissions as possible without missing a key thing (like how Adele skipped on submitting “Skyfall” into the general and pop fields).”September 3, 2019 at 1:29 pm #1203056017
They never pick live versions, but they are eligible despite your claim to the contrary. So yes, Adele was eligible in ROTY with “Set Fire to the Rain” (live) and in ROTY/SOTY with “Skyfall,” and was passed over both times. My point stands
If every live version is deleted in ROTY it isn’t as if Adele had been exclusively excluded.
It has been pointed out that Skyfall wasn’t submitted to pop solo and general field. @sharon1 (industry voter) > pop forum. That is all.
