Bruno Mars back with R&B? Yessir!
This is so going to win everything R&B next Grammy season.
I guess some people have a lot of cakes to bake.March 3, 2021 at 7:45 pm #1204081205
The movie was Okay-ish. I am a Jodie stan but it bothers me that she has stopped pushing the envelope. The last role that she wasn’t ‘Jodie’ in was Inside Man. It’s like she doesn’t care or doesn’t want to come out of her comfort zone.
Although her portrayal was typical Jodie, she was at least better than Olivia Coleman. So if Glenn is not going to win then Jodie should.March 3, 2021 at 7:37 pm #1204081201
Janelle Monae is really good in Antebellum. Sad that the movie was horrible.
Janelle Monae is extremely talented. The Grammys did Dirty Computer dirty. If Hidden Figures is any indication then it’s a matter of time before she gets her recognition as an actress.March 3, 2021 at 9:30 am #1204080022
It’s interesting how when White actors win every year for the past 90+ ceremonies, we never see this type of discourse. Yet when it does happen, many come to their defense. But as soon as Black performers earn their due it’s “politics”. Maybe Kaluuya, Boseman, & Day’s performances resonated with voters and others didn’t.
And i don’t understand what kind of “politics” was involved when Kaluuya and Boseman were inevitable to begin with. Why cant people accept that Andra won because she was GOOD. If they were giving out awards based on “politics” then Viola would’ve won instead because she is more overrated and over-hyped.March 3, 2021 at 6:49 am #1204079494
Am i missing something? Didn’t Andra day win less than 3 days ago? Isn’t she a black actress? Or is she not black enough for some of you?
In spite of Andra trouncing competition just a few days ago people are still hypothesizing about a (unlikely) Davis win.
If we accept the argument that the HFPA awarded based on race then they vehemently rejected Viola. They had every chance to hand Davis the award were they handing out prizes based on race of the nominees.
The woman has been ignored by critics and award bodies yet we are still fantasizing and debating her win based on the speculation that since she is a SAG favorite she “might” win there.
People…please.March 2, 2021 at 6:11 pm #1204078140
For being in a white-feminist film that handles the subject of rape and surviving rape in an absolutely despicable manner.
Bro the movie has a 91 score on RT and god knows RT is filled with SJWs. If they didn’t have a problem with whatever you’re describing then i assure you that the average audience wont either.
Had you said that she will get a backlash for making a stank face at Andra’s win then i might’ve agreed with you.March 2, 2021 at 5:51 pm #1204078055
I don’t even want Carey to win. I can already imagine the backlash if she does. The fact that the only black woman in PYW is a complete stereotype will not help lmao.
Backlash? For what?
The movie is much more than black or white characters. And besides there is no cardinal rule that every movies needs token POC.March 2, 2021 at 3:27 pm #1204077731
He is not just good he is EXCELLENT. Better than the competition.March 2, 2021 at 10:06 am #1204076813
Nobody said Viola was the front runner she’s obviously not but she’s far from last.
That’s EXACTLY what people are saying. What their deduction is based on baffles me.
Some are even saying things like ‘its between Day and Davis’ which is no different than the comments Victor makes.March 2, 2021 at 9:02 am #1204076604
That’s all far left rhetoric that is incredibly biased.
I love CateNicole and agree with most of her opinions but she was calling out Stacey Abrams a week ago. I mean seriously, the woman single-handedly saved our asses in this election cycle.
And not Europeans co-signing. They need to focus on their own messes and stay out of American politics.
