Supporting actor was so weak last year, very comparable to supporting actress this year. There was no excuse for him to miss.March 16, 2019 at 5:13 pm #1202818883
Lupita Nyong’o isn’t getting nominated. I just check the reviews and the only person they’re talking about is Peele. This means her performance isn’t quite impressive…
She still has a chance for the 2020’s People Choice Awards, MTV movie awards and most importantly NAACP awards.
I have seen it and her performance is indeed impressive.March 11, 2019 at 4:11 pm #1202812842

Aw this last night. Cute, but one aspect of it is extremely problematic. The last 30 minutes were fantastic.March 9, 2019 at 11:16 pm #1202810849
Got to check out some of the pilot at SXSW. This show is gonna be interesting, that’s for sure. Neil Gaiman confirmed there is no way it will go on for more than one season.March 9, 2019 at 9:55 am #1202810251
The film was good. Finally similar to Get Out. It had social themes, but was much less obvious. Very fun, intense, funny, and suspenseful movie. I’m not as confident about this movies Oscar chances as I was about Get Out, but let’s see its cultural impact.
Moss was good, especially in one scene, but doesn’t quite have the screentime. If I were to nominate a supporting actress, it might be Shahadi Wright Joseph. Winston Duke was great as well and provided a lot of comic relief.
But yes, Lupita was the MVP. I wasn’t sure how I felt about her at first, but I fell for her by the end. Great performance. I could see her being this years Colette, but the films likely financial success and crowd pleasing factor will probably help her.
The tech here was fantastic. At the moment it deserves to win editing and sound.
I don’t think this will be as big as Get Out, but it’s a good follow up and it did not disappoint. I think this will at the very least a contender for a few categories.March 8, 2019 at 7:37 pm #1202809640
Just left the premiere. More thoughts later, but this movie is a direct response to Get Out not being Oscar nominated for editing.March 4, 2019 at 8:46 pm #1202804129
Olivia Colman shouldn’t be winning this poll but I predicted her to win so I’m fine with it considering it makes me seem like I know stuff.
