Her role in this is very good and the story is incredible, acting and directing for this will be very flashy, and also the techs (wealthy life in the 1920’s as well as an important part on a Switzerland health facility). Hernan Diaz mentioned in other interviews how close he is to Kate lately, so the adaptation should be great and really focused on her character.
The male lead screams DiCaprio but that’s unrealistic, so Cumberbatch would also be my first choice, Mads Mikkelsen a close second. Joel Edgerton and Alexander Skarsgard would fit as well.

She also mentioned she’s developing another TV thing and received something last month which she said on a Variety interview that she’s “probably doing it because just the thought of if makes her sick and is also very exciting”. So we’re probably getting announcements on the next few months.
May 28, 2021 at 12:28 pm #1204276617She said in an interview last month that she’s got some things in development, and spoke a little about the Lee Miller biopic and another TV project. I believe it was for a podcast or something.
ReplyMay 21, 2021 at 10:35 am #1204264914Mare of Easttown’s Episode 5 just crossed 2k votes on imdb with a 9,6 score. The show is at 8,5 with 11k votes so far. That’s pretty impressive. Unfortunately HBO hasn’t released the ratings for that ep yet. I’m really curious to see how it goes from now on
April 7, 2021 at 6:47 pm #1204185080What about Evan Peters? He’s being mentioned in some reviews and supporting actor is a wasteland
April 5, 2021 at 10:01 am #1204179605This is her first title as a producer, I hope she gets that Best Limited Series nom too
ReplyFebruary 21, 2021 at 4:30 pm #1204053432I’m not sure if it means anything, but the trailer for Mare of Easttown is almost reaching 3,9 million views on youtube, and 4,6 million on twitter… Wasn’t expecting that after 4 days. They are probably promoting the hell out of it to boost HBO Max.
For comparison (on youtube):
The Outsider: 10 million
The Undoing: 8,1 million
Watchmen: 6,6 million
Sharp Objects: 2,1 million
Big Little Lies (season 1): 1,6 million
Many comments surrounding the old school detective series vibe and the Winslet-Pearce pairing. If it becomes indeed popular, I can see it getting nominated across the board but not winning much.
