Is Adele even eligible for Best Music Film? Since it was just a TV Special and not a real film.
It is eligible: “In order to qualify for this category, concert/performance films or music documentaries must be released theatrically or for sale to the public for the first time or first appearing on television or online during the current eligibility year”.September 13, 2022 at 5:56 pm #1205082727
Although some fans may be disappointed by Beyonce’s lack of promotion, I actually think she’s right doing so. Renaissance is the first of three albums, so if the puts all the cards at once there will be nothing left to rise the hype on the others. She delivered a #1 hit and some others songs, like Alien Superstar, also got on spotlight. That may be enough for now.
Even if Adele was out the table, she would still have to face Silk Sonic and Kendrick. So it would be a good strategy to focus on the next Grammy cycle as none of those big fish will be on it – her label knows that.September 12, 2022 at 2:56 pm #1205078772
Surprised at OneRepublic’s Top Gun:Maverick soundtrack song being bigger than Gaga’s Hold My Hand which was pushed as the main single from the film! Do you think there’s a chance OneRepublic will get the BSFVM nomination over Gaga?
A nomination as a consolation prize after the snub of Counting Stars? I’m living for it.September 12, 2022 at 3:54 am #1205078006
This Taylor Swift discussion a few pages ago… the truth is that she has a tons of luck. If Folklore was realeased one Grammy cycle before or after she would have lost.
In 2010 she won because no one was taking Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas and Gaga seriously. Between Swift and Dave Matthews we know who has the larger appeal.
Then there’s 2016. Although the line up was pretty strong she had an unstoppable combo: a pop album that sold a lot, had its hit and had a lot of buzz. Sad that others genres couldn’t stand a chance, otherwise that trophy could have gone to Kendrick and even Chris Stapleton.September 6, 2022 at 7:57 am #1205070284
I think: N95: Record Of The Year, Rap Performance The Heart Part 5: Song Of The Year, Rap Song, Song For a Social Change We Cry Together: Music Video
I think his label will go with N95 in both ROTY and SOTY. Voters don’t know the difference between these two categories, so doesn’t matter if Heart Part 5 is better written. Kendrick will submit the lead single in the general field.September 5, 2022 at 3:30 pm #1205069686
Isn’t she submitting all night parking in jazz categories?
All Night Parking spent 30 weeks at 1# on Spotify’s Jazz Global chart. But I think she couldn’t submit it as there’s no jazz song category. There’s only album categories and Best Improvised Jazz Solo, which is instrumental.September 5, 2022 at 3:21 pm #1205069674
Adele might break her own record & win 7 in one night. Music Video is the only logical category she might lose. I’m still not convinced Harry will beat her in the GF or Pop.
If she submits Easy On Me I think she might lose, but if she goes with OMG I think she has a strong case, that video is very good.September 3, 2022 at 6:59 pm #1205065413
Adele is now an Emmy winner! She’s just a Tony away from EGOT.

It’s weird for me that Arctic Monkeys only have 3 nominations on the rock field, almost scandalous. Imagine a world that AM didn’t get Best Rock Album (or Alternative?) nomination and that Do I Wanna Know lost to Lazaretto.
Muse, deservedly so, at least got two Grammys home (both Best Rock Album). But still they’re missed on other categories. Let’s be honest, where are the nominations for Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight and Uprising?September 3, 2022 at 12:47 pm #1205064710
Miley Cyrus is a more respected artist in rock industry. She did excellent live performances and she collaborated with important names. And she was totally snubbed. Demi Lovato is not happening in rock categories. The rock voters vote for the same old people in the last 20 years. They didn’t even vote for Måneskin, the biggest new rock band in years.
I love Miley version of Heart of GlassSeptember 3, 2022 at 12:44 pm #1205064706
What are your favorite submissions for artists during a year that you love? Particularly those that got nominated or were at least in the conversation. I’ll go first. I absolutely love how Beyoncé’s team spread the wealth during her Lemonade era. She had tracks in almost every major field. My #1 choice of those was “DON’T HURT YOURSELF” in Rock Performance & Song. Adele sending “Someone Like You” to Pop instead of “Rolling in the Deep” was also a smart choice.
On the other hand I think Adele should have submitted When We Were Young to Pop Solo instead of Hello. Of course the latter is a powerhouse, but the former is one of her best songs ever.September 1, 2022 at 7:27 pm #1205062628
It’s safe to say Kendrick is a kind of artist voters will name check, so I don’t see a problem with him submitting other stuff rather than N95. But is likely that his record label won’t rely on that.September 1, 2022 at 4:11 pm #1205062390
Hope Adele submits ‘OMG’ instead of ‘Easy on Me’ in Music Video. The former is clearly the better one.September 1, 2022 at 5:45 am #1205061359
I’m not 100% sure Ed Sheeran will get the nom for Best Pop Vocal Album. At the same time he’s an obvious contender for the nom I can totally see him being snubbed. For example if Renaissence gets moved the one to get out of the lineup could be Sheeran. Not now
