HCA Awards are harmless but not pedigreed/serious. They are not something anyone in the industry is tracking for real.

Agree. The big general pool of Emmy voters might’ve picked Inventing Anna and Pam & Tommy over Maid, but the actors branch tends to award performances like Qualley’s, that are deeply emotional and human (think: Mare).
Also, Maid and Station Eleven not getting series despite both getting the big 3 (acting, writing, directing) tells me that the “statistics” of past races no longer applies in 2022. This is the wild west. The idea that 2 shows (Inventing Anna and Pam & Tommy) got into series despite ZERO NODS for writing/directing…is absurd. What do people think a series is?? It’s literally writing, directing, and acting. I believe we will see a big disconnect this year between the Series noms and who the writing/directing/acting BRANCHES pick to win. (We actually already saw this last year, with Halston winning acting, I May Destroy You winning Writing, Mare winning acting, and Queens Gambit winning Series/Directing.) This year – I bet it’s even more diversified, and I bet Maid and Station Eleven get statues in writing and directing.
