Jazmine Sullivan vs. SZA and Silk Sonic in the R&B categories would be very interesting.
hoping Silk Sonic somehow gets snubbed. Jazmine, SZA, and (lesser so) Doja all are overdue.
April 18, 2021 at 4:26 pm #1204208068hoping “Good Days” and “Streets” will both get into R&B Song & Performance and “Good Days” wins Song while “Streets” wins Performance. however knowing the Grammys they’ll give both to the terribly derivative Silk Sonic song because they have a boner for Bruno despite him making the same music for 6 years now.
April 1, 2021 at 8:12 am #1204169074Who else saw his Instagram post requesting followers to buy multiple times and stream on a repeat loop to get him a No1? It spoils the whole narrative thing and projects him as too thirsty. I wish he was just having fun with the music…damn!
You do realize he was joking, right? He was mocking Justin Bieber doing the same thing. And he was already predicted to go number one before he posted that. Get a sense of humor.
March 5, 2021 at 9:32 am #1204085563If Olivia drops her album, she’s sweeping. If there’s one thing the Grammys love it’s a young female songwriter with a kick ass voice. Adele, Billie, Taylor, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys. “drivers license” is the obvious choice for Pop Solo and SOTY, and I’d love to see her in the running for AOTY and BPVA as well
February 8, 2021 at 7:51 am #1204030312Taylor Swift has the spot any year she wants it at this point. Her, Ariana, and Justin are the only undeniable current pop stars who have not done it yet, and she is by far the best performer and biggest artist of the three. I think she might wait until she becomes more of a legacy artist though. Rihanna and Drake also have the hits, but Rihanna is on indefinite hiatus and Drake doesn’t have the presence or endurance to do it. I bet Ariana will do it next year.

I could just as easily see them giving it to Savage honestly.

This! Artist of the Year should definitely be a category.

You Belong With MeJanuary 12, 2021 at 9:42 am #1203979588I would love to see the GF pop and alternative categories split. Grammys rarely spread the love and this year is such a great opportunity to.
Ideally Taylor and Dua (maybe Gaga and Ari?) would split the pop categories, Phoebe and Fiona would split the alt/rock categories, and Taylor, Dua, and Megan would all get their due in the general field.

January 7, 2021 at 12:40 pm #1203967843Exactly. Nominees were leaked this year, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if winners do as well.
When did the nominees leak?? Did I miss that?
ReplyNovember 24, 2020 at 10:00 am #1203864051this AOTY lineup is truly awful oh my lord. Taylor & Dua are the only ones deserving of AOTY.

When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?Those are the pop albums that won AOTY this millennium. They were all huge blockbusters. We didn’t have this type of success this year so probably the winner will be an album which is not relied on commercial success.
24K Magic was in no way on the level of the other albums. DAMN. sold more albums and Ed sold more singles that year.
October 9, 2020 at 6:29 am #1203768404Rina submitted to Alternative and also submitted STFU! for Rock Song & Performance. I would kill to see her get a nomination outside BNA.
ReplyOctober 1, 2020 at 8:55 pm #1203751140all I can say is wow. reading the first few pages now is HILARIOUS. the amount of Zendaya hatred, misinterpretation of the show and its message, and irrational anger at the show before it even aired made me smile knowing the show walked away with 3 Emmy Awards.
what’s even more interesting is how Zendaya managed to get into her Emmy category without even a nomination from any of the precursor awards. (and before the racist 40 year olds claim it was “political” please keep it to yourself because she gave the best performance of the year)
Looking ahead, I can really see the show being pushed by HBO for more nominations and hopeful wins for its next season. It will be competing in the Limited Series / TV Movie categories next year because they’re currently filming “bridge” episodes between the first 2 seasons. I definitely think Zendaya will repeat a nomination at least, and Hunter Schaefer and Jacob Elordi will be nominated for their phenomenal work. I’d love to see Barbie, Alexa, or Sydney get in but who knows.

When Season 2 finally does arrive, it will definitely receive more universal praise and awards/nominations if it stays at the same quality of the first season.
(Thankfully none of the Euphoria haters from 2018 have jobs so they were unable to vote in the Emmys. Anyways, stream Emmy winning song “All For Us” sung by Emmy winning singer Labrinth and Emmy winning actress Zendaya from the 3x Emmy winning cultural phenomenon TV series Euphoria.)Why are you reporting this post?
