In my opinion, Raw, Irreversible, and Climax should not be compared to A Serbian Film, Salo, or Cannibal Holocaust. They’re very well made artistic films, whereas I would call those others exploitative bordering on torture porn. Mank’s biggest two draws are Fincher and the behind the scenes story of ‘Citizen Kane.’ Oldman is not the draw to Mank. He is a lock for a nomination, because Mank is the most egregious case of ‘oscar-bait’ I’ve ever seen, but like Frances in Nomadland, a win is highly unlikely.
