This is me promoting Christmas Tree Farm (and Taylor’s cover of Last Christmas).November 30, 2020 at 12:29 pm #1203885106
It usually goes to a hit song though, so if anything this is an argument against exile’s chances. 8/9 of the previous winners have been top 5 on the Hot 100. The last time a non top 5 song won was in 2012 (first year of this category). Regardless, as I keep saying, I still think exile is the frontrunner because of Taylor’s name.
Well to be fair exile is a top 6 hit so your cutoff is a bit arbitrary here…November 25, 2020 at 7:04 pm #1203873802
I’m looking at the SOTY nominations and I think cardigan is a stronger frontrunner than I thought… There’s no alternative, rock, or country songs so a lot of those voters might choose cardigan given it’s the closest to these genres. Also, it will probably get a good chunk of pop voters as well. It would a be really well deserved award too, cause Taylor is way overdue for a SOTY win.November 25, 2020 at 6:51 pm #1203873779
I’ve been listening to Djesse Vol. 3 a bunch today and yeesh… this album is so good but at the same time incredibly weirdNovember 25, 2020 at 6:23 pm #1203873739
Should somebody make a new thread? This one is at 500+ posts.November 24, 2020 at 10:11 am #1203864339
The rest of everything is a mess but as a Taylor stan I’m so happy… 3/3 in the pop field, SOTY and AOTY nominations with a golden brick path to winning in the album categories (no after hours, ftbc, big country albums)… Taylor really might be the first woman to win the album of the year award three times!!November 24, 2020 at 9:54 am #1203863873
AOTY is so easily Taylor’s without ftbc or after hours nominated.. wowNovember 7, 2020 at 5:34 pm #1203822627
My favorite is of course biased, but it would probably have to be Taylor Swift opening up the 2016 ceremony performing out of the woods with Jack Antonoff on stage.October 30, 2020 at 8:05 am #1203811186
Hmmm…..oh okay. Then I think Billie will get a nomination but Taylor is definitely winning this considering it’s political message & it being endorsed by Democrats, literally it is being used in their campaign.
I feel like the song will lose steam by the time comes to vote, although what’s happening now certainly won’t hurt its chances! It’s not like No Time To Die is going to be on the minds of voters then either though, but it does have the benefit of being the better song…
