This season was overall horrendous when it came to character encounters but Sophie deserved nom just for that look she gave Daenerys in the premiere. Anyway, these noms, Harington , Christie, Allen, Turner are rewards for the whole series, not for this season. I just wish outstanding actors like Fairley, Dance etc could have had such chance.
I think you’re confusing the current season (6) with the panned season 7 and 8 scripts that were leaked and had to be redone. I also hear that Fairley and Dance are coming back for guest appearances in season 7.July 16, 2019 at 11:52 am #1202978914
Given how severely Veep under performed, I don’t see how we can be so confident in JLD winning. She has already won this seven times, and if the inertia wasn’t a problem before, the reduction in support for Veep with the massive surge for Fleabag points at Waller Bridge winning this category.
I think the 7 wins only helps her, not hurts her. The industry loves JLD too much for her to lose on her final season, especially when she just got done battling cancer. I think Waller-Bridge is competitive now (maybe in 2nd place), but she still will probably lose to JLD. The Veep underperformance probably insures a series loss, but I doubt it hurts her.July 16, 2019 at 11:47 am #1202978895
I will forever drag and hunt down the Emmys for snubbing Scanlen.
But anyways, the other ones I’m not okay with are: Pamela Adlon (Better Things), Richard Madden (Bodyguard), Janet McTeer (Ozark), Issa Rae (Insecure, even though I saw it coming), and Milk in Writing for Sharp Objects (as well as directing).July 16, 2019 at 11:37 am #1202978852
I’m really curious as to how many acting wins this season could pull off since it was the acting branch that seems to have pushed it over the edge. Dinklage is the only lock but Van Houten’s hurdle was the nomination and she’s top 2 imo, Clarke could pull it off with her massive amount of support this year, and Lena/Maisie could too if Shaw gets the least amount of votes.
I have a feeling it’ll win directing even with those 3 nominations, along with writing.July 16, 2019 at 11:13 am #1202978700
The big industry awards must really hate Gillian Flynn to nom her for the guilds to only snub her eventually lol.July 16, 2019 at 10:57 am #1202978616
Carice van Houten really may be coming for that Emmy. The various stages of emotions I went through when I realized this:July 16, 2019 at 10:52 am #1202978576
Look, I’m ecstatic over how well Fleabag performed. They gave Fleabag the treatment they should have gave The Leftovers 2 years ago and that’s amazing, BUT it’s going to be a long time before I can get over them snubbing Andrew Scott. He better be nominated for the goldderby awards or I will be checking predictions and hunting down the bitches who didn’t vote for him.
*puts him in due to wanting to live lol*July 16, 2019 at 10:23 am #1202978417
LOL I got placed 1636 with 55%. I GOT BUTCHERED. Comedy and Limited is what did me in with all those surprises and WTSU over-performance. I really had no faith in FX this year lol. Drama I got pretty much 5/6 in every category (except for Series with 6/7 and 4/6 in SActor).July 16, 2019 at 10:02 am #1202978290
Fleabag, Schitt’s Creek. Guest2018 is having a meltdown lol.July 16, 2019 at 9:37 am #1202978082
Robin Wright is not winning. Her show received no other nominations. I hate they nominated her because I would hate to see her lose again. It’s Oh, Comer, or Linney. Not really a hard one here guys.
But it did? I’d call anything outside of Wright an over-performance. Ozark under-performed, so I’m not sure Linney is going to get that many votes. And the vote-splitting for Comer and Oh will be a real thing.July 16, 2019 at 9:30 am #1202978032
I have no idea whose winning Lead Actress anymore. I mean, vote-splitting will be real for Comer and Oh with it’s over-performance. It’s pretty much a free-for-all. Clarke and GOT over-performed and broke the record, Ozark under-performed so I’m sure Linney is out, and Wright got Kelly in (which should be considered a feat all on it’s own).July 16, 2019 at 8:58 am #1202977684
OMG I just realized Scanlen missed.
