True that peer recognition is the most desirable form of validation. I mean, even anger over not being considered for a Grammy rather implies a strong desire for it (Drake & Weekend). However, there’s still a difference between thinking “it’ll be really great to win a Grammy” and “how do I strategise to win?”. The attitudes of Adele, Kendrick, Harry, & Beyonce align with the former while Swift takes the bull by the horn (not a bad thing).

how does she do that exactly.  She obviously isn’t very good at it since she has the lowest winning percentage of every one including Adele, Gaga, Billie, or Bey and has fewer than them all (except Billie).  But, its still Taylor this and Taylor that.  For someone with the least, and the lowest percentage, why are people so threatened by her?  1 Grammy in 7 years (that’s including 5 albums).  I heard someone say she’s always at every Grammy show and they always focus on her.  Please, she has only attended 1 Grammy show in 7 years.  People need to stop the obsession, its really old and unnecessary.

i bought the album, its really good. IN fact the ABBA album topped the charts in 18 countries worldwide. Sold more than 1M copies worldwide in its first week and broke a ton of records. May not be your taste, but it was a certified smash.

I didn’t even trashed her, except 1989 won over TPAB. You wrote this to the wrong person, i even liked her recent route of her career and Midnights album.

1989 was a great album and was the #1 album of the year.  In hindsight, TPAB is considered the best album of all time.  But at the time, I’m not sure I had even heard of it.  I’m certain the reason it didn’t win is because it had minimal chart success.  I don’t think he had a top ten hit from it, maybe only 1 top 40 hit.  But that’s it.  i think that is why voters would have looked at 1989 and it was the top seller, the #1 album, and 4 #1 hits and 3 other top 10, top 20 and top 40 hits.  Its difficult to say 1989 was undeserving with all those successes against an album with no top 10 or 20 or 30 hits.  but, like I said, in hindsight, TPAB is considered the best album of all time.

Lol at silk Sonic “graciously bowing out” do you people hear yourselves sometimes? Bruno bowed out because he didn’t want to mess up his streak! He and Paak were bragging all night about their clean sweep. He’s also another that’s just as obsessed as Adele and Taylor.

Taylor has 1 grammy in 7 years. has a lower win percentage than any of the female artists today.  Yet she is obsessed with Grammy’s?  Doja literally cried when she won, so its a BIG deal to people no matter what anyone thinks.  And, Taylor has fewer than Adele, Gaga, and Bey.

I think she cares but not like Taylor Swift. Other than the Brits, the Grammys is the only other award show (she constantly attends). If she was HUNGRY hungry she would have been trying to submit in other genres like r&b or vocal arrangement for songs that qualify In anything other then pop, music video, or the GF

well maybe if some jackass didn’t interrupt her when she was a teenager winning her first big award and telling the world she didn’t deserve it on live television…. maybe then she wouldn’t be trying to prove herself all the time.  “she cares but not like Taylor Swift”… give me a break.  If people hadn’t cut her down since she was 19 after that, then my guess is she’d be a bit different.  Psychology 101.  Don’t blame her, blame the jackass of all asses. I mean it’s been 14 years and people still drag her every single day about it. AND say ridiculous things about how it helped her album be so great, when nothing could be farther from the truth. Gaga, Adele, Miley, Katy, no one had to deal with that BS, but Taylor did as a teenager and still does to this day. Of course she feels like she has something to prove.

Adele have rights to submit her work to the Grammys however she shouldn’t say that ” i don’t deserve it, somebody else deserves it.” That’s a contradiction, same goes for Billie Eilish. You have two choices to don’t contradict yourself, don’t submit your work and forfeit or get up to stage when you win and say ” my album deserves it, i’m better than you bitches.” Simple as that.

ok next time Taylor wins an award (she does have the lowest winning percentage of all the top female artists) you won’t trash her if she says, yep I deserved it, I”m better than you bitches?  I highly doubt that.

lol she even submitted a re-recorded version of an album that was already nominated for AOTY 10 years ago. So count with that.

you realize she isn’t the first to submit re-recorded music, because, if you understand the category then you’d understand that its production PLUS songwriting and it is 100% allowed.  AND, she not only isn’t the first to submit re-recorded music, others have been nominated and WON AOTY for it.  So, instead of being mad at her, sounds like you just don’t like the rules. Don’t slam the player, slam the game.

According to the Grammy’s website, the submission period for the 2023 ceremony was between July 18 and August 31, 2022. That was around two weeks before Renaissance’s release and a month after the album was announced. It seems like Adele could have easily not submitted 30 if she wanted to so Queen Bey could finally take home her award without competition from a grammy darling with a near-perfect track record. Or maybe she didn’t think the album was shaping up to be worthy after listening to Break My Soul, released 29 days before the submission period? That seems possible too.

I think you have the dates wrong.  Adele released 30 album in November 2021.  Bey released July 2022.  Bey had not announced an album or a date by November 2021.   The eligibility period was October 2021 – Sept 2022.  Not sure what you wanted Adele to do.  Maybe Bey should have postponed her release to November 2022 to avoid going up against Adele.  But, that’s pretty ridiculous.  I doubt either of them thought anything of it because that is the music business.  Period.

Any chance of Greedlor Swift graciously bowing out like Silk Sonic? People would think a lot more of her if she did.
    Her thirsty ass would never.

why?  that makes no sense.  And expecting her to do so is pretty ridiculous just because someone else did.  They won SOTY and ROTY, so yea.  Its not like they graciously bowed out of the Grammy’s on the first try, did they?  NO.  So, why expect her to?  Because its Taylor.  AND, BTW, she has a lower winning percentage than Adele, Billie, Gaga, and of course Bey.  She’s won 1 Grammy in 7 years.  From your logic why don’t either of them drop out?  why Taylor?  I mean its pretty obvious. But, just curious if you want to admit it.  All of them have a higher percentage than Taylor, but Oh, Taylor is so greedy.  1 grammy in 7 years.  Fewer grammy’s than Adele, Bey, or Gaga, but OH Taylor is so Greedy.  Right.  The lack of logic, mathematics, statistics, and overall brains on this thread is staggering.  Its like Twitter for 10 year olds.

I could see only three scenarios: 1. Adele sweeping all the GF 2. Adele winning ROTY and SOTY but losing AOTY 3. Adele winning 0 awards in GF There is no reason to give her ROTY and not SOTY. She will win both or nothing. If Taylor wins SOTY then my prediction for ROTY is Harry Styles.

I’ve been thinking about Easy on Me as ROTY, but had picked BMS.  But As it Was is such a huge hit, bigger than the others, even though its not my fave.  I think ROTY could go to either of these.  I do think Taylor will finally get that SOTY though.  I think Harry and Adele will duke it out in the pop category, pop vocal album and pop song.  Impossible to think that either of those albums or songs would go home empty handed.  Takes me back to ROTY.  I think Harry takes ROTY, Adele gets the pop categories, and BMS wins the dance category and maybe Cuff It & Virgo’s Groove wins in R&B.  She’s taking home several.

I’m making peace with the possibility of Bey not winning AOTY. These people will willingly make the same mistakes over and over again for reasons best known to them. But I just hope and pray that if she loses, she publicly disassociates from them Weeknd style. Queen can’t be paid dust over and over again.

I don’t see any other possibility.  10 good / great albums.  All worthy.  Something has to set the winner apart, be special beyond the rest.  Renaissance was that for me.  The winner has to have pushed boundaries, or taken risks, or tried something new, introduced something new, expanded the musical universe so to speak.  30 is spectacular, and very emotional for Adele, but I think it was the same sound, wonderful sound.  But Renaissance was new, fresh, exciting, creative, surprising, and offered something different.   To me, this sets Renaissance apart from the rest, even Adele.  This is Renaissance’s year.

She campaigned for ATW, but that is what people do for Oscars.  And, it is what she NEEDED to do in order to get her foot in the door of the film festivals, speaking with directors, etc.  She got Oscar buzz for ATW but overall this was a long endgame of getting into conversations with other directors, making connections.  That worked perfectly.  I’m sure she is disappointed it didn’t make the short list but overall the benefit here is the long haul.
