I think the video is for one of the soundtrack songs. It caught my attention that she said she’s working on “a soundtrack” with Ilya (or Savan, I don’t remember). Could she be making more than one song? Get your Oscar sis.
That threw me for a loop because I assumed she was going to be on a soundtrack, but now that we knows it’s A soundtrack then I wonder what it’s for. Maybe it’s one of those situations where the artist is curating like what Lorde did on the 3rd Hunger Games soundtrack.June 6, 2019 at 4:36 pm #1202926504
Ariana confirmed they’ll be no more singles from the album, her ‘thank u, next’ fragrance will be out in August, her Givenchy collection drops in July, she’s currently working on a soundtrack and recently shot a video for something unrelated to music.May 31, 2019 at 11:23 am #1202918075
I agree with just about everyone else and hope that Katy pulls through with a Best Pop Solo nom and hopefully a win. She deserves it after all the snubbing they’ve done over the years.May 30, 2019 at 9:35 am #1202916522
Dua cannot sing, dance, has no stage presence & her music is generic rubbish. She was the worst choice in last years BNA lineup.
is that all you do is post negativity? that’s all i’ve seen from you and this entire post is funny seeing as you’re a rihanna fan.May 30, 2019 at 4:32 am #1202916134
H.E.R deserved, but Dua Lipa is not as mediocre as most white pop stars. Also, while we’re at it, why does everyone hate Alessia Cara’s win? Aside from SZA no one there was more deserving than her, IMO.
I wish more people saw what you and myself do in Dua. a lot of people wrote her off as some “industry plant” or mediocre act when she’s more involved in her music than they know.
I had been watching her closely since New Rules started to bubble in the U.S. and came to appreciate her even more once I had listened to her album and saw that she was a writer on all but one track.
She has a bright future ahead of herself and I can’t wait to hear what she’s been cooking up for her second LP.May 27, 2019 at 4:27 pm #1202912711
Sidenote: Sam Smith fell out when Adele and Ed Sheeran started making his brand of melodramatic ballads. His second album was way, way better than most of the AOTY nominees last year, and Palace remains better than anything Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Beck, Camila Cabello, and Toast Machine have released.
Spill that ish. Palace took off when it did based off of a damn COMMERCIAL and that’s what really stopped the era in it’s tracks because there was a second single in place, but the label didn’t know what to do after Palace over shadowed it and the. he went on tour and couldn’t promote as much as he would’ve while not on tour.
I’m also tired of coming in here and seeing him be doubted and sometimes trashed over something as simple as not being nominated when the reasonings have been laid out and it’s been explained that his sophomore was far from a flop.May 26, 2019 at 4:14 pm #1202911704
Really rooting for Lizzo, Maggie Rogers and Billie to be nominated and win big.May 23, 2019 at 9:27 am #1202905861
Ed Sheeran is releasing a “collaborative” album in July. https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/8512854/ed-sheeran-no6-collaborations-ep-chance-the-rapper-pnb-rock
is that a threat?May 22, 2019 at 8:37 pm #1202905223
I’ve been listening to Vince Staples more often recently and I can’t help but be a bit upset that he didn’t release his last studio album FM! later than he did. It’s a really nice concept and has decent features, but I feel like it got lost in the shuffle being released late in November. I hope that he can still get in and finally be nominated.May 22, 2019 at 4:38 pm #1202905023
Tyler the Creator’s album defies the Rap genre IMO. Sonically, it’s all over the place. There is a lot more singing than rapping. It would be interesting if he submits to Urban Contemporary.
I hope he submits at Urban Contemporary, I’m sure he would fair better there than Best Rap Album.May 19, 2019 at 11:50 am #1202899893
That song wouldn’t have done that well if it weren’t for it being released as a single the same night the album dropped PLUS it had a MV attached to it.
And it’s still hanging on within the top 20 going on four months after it’s release. Let’s not act like it just came and went. It’s also doing really well at radio.
