I was going to say! The accusations against Percy are bigger than all of this and it’s somewhat harrowing how Netflix aren’t making a statement about it. I wonder whether they’re going to try and sweep it under the rug or will they potentially recast him? If they take no action and allow him to keep his job, that is incredibly deplorable and something that honestly shouldn’t be tolerated.

To an extent, I understand what you’re saying, but we’ve seen how many awards bodies have neglected to nominate her whilst they nominate the Martins. I do agree though that there has been an increase in industry support for her overall (the GG nom and Oscar shortlist). If they have Meryl on that campaign trail, and if they go hard, then she might get in. All I know is that I would love to see Cardellini nominated, but with the unlimited ballot being axed, I don’t think she’ll be able to coattail Applegate – but it is also plausible to argue that this could benefit Gomez.

That’s the problem for Only Murders this time, the ridiculously early release will inevitably hinder its chance at the Emmys for S2, i.e. Gomez. Ted Lasso will obviously dominate, but it has a challenge from Abbott for Comedy Series this time. Comedy Actor feels somewhat locked; Sudeikis, Hader, Martin, Short, White, but I’m not sure about the final slot. Comedy Actress is a very tight race because you have; Smart, Brunson, Applegate, and Brosnahan as locks but then the final 2 slots are up in the air. There’s Cardellini, Gomez, Ortega, Fanning (depending on The Great’s release), Arquette, Lyonne (depending on where Poker Face submits), and other people I can’t think of right now. There’s a case you could make for any of them but right now I’m just so unsure.

Exactly – everybody knows that Selena has been overlooked for too long. Being snubbed at the 2018/2021 Grammys and then being snubbed at the Emmys, which the GP and Critics agreed was wrong, I can see a very slight chance that she does make it in; I know it’s very small but you can never say never.

It’s really hard because as a Selena fan, I am obviously biased, however, I genuinely could see a scenario in which Selena makes it in. She has somewhat of a narrative – her mental and physical health which she has had to deal with publicly – and this is why I can envision some members of the music branch relating to it; thus, wanting to support it/her. If the branch wants to do something different and nominate someone who has been neglected by awards bodies, then I could see them going for Selena, albeit there would have to be overwhelming support for it/her among the voters which there most likely isn’t. All I know is that there’s going to be an upset/surprise tomorrow.

You don’t have to agree with me, and you probably won’t, but the blatant Selena snubs are beyond ridiculous. I get the Martins are both revered actors but Only Murders wouldn’t work without Selena, but I also know how tough the competition was this year. It’s blatantly obvious her peers don’t respect her because of who she is and it shows that she’s never getting in at either SAG or the Emmys.
