Actually, I don’t necessarily see it as a cash grab per se, since the last thing Kim need is money. However, everyone knows that AHS is in desperate need of audience… The show’s viewership hit an all-time low in NYC season. On the other hand, the Kardashians, including Kim, are facing a decline in their relevance and popularity. So, it seems like a fair exchange for both sides to attract people’s attention.

April 18, 2023 at 7:34 pm #1205395190I must say that given Ariana’s record of being goofy at the very least in her previous acting roles, I was worried about this project since her casting announcement. But now, I honestly think that this is her first opportunity to really show off great acting skills and deliver a serious and consistent performance in a non-stereotyped character. The first candids and sneak peeks had me very hopeful, and I really liked what has been shown so far. Obviously, as another user said, I’m not expecting any nominations acting-wise, at best maybe just the Globes. However, this project has so much potential in craft categories and Best Original Song.

I have been a lurker since the last awards cycle, and back then, the discussions used to be healthier, less biased, and more analytical. People on this forum were always kind to Selena and liked her overall. Some users, like “Voyage” and “Lenatroid,” were fans but also very respectful and sensible in their remarks. However, apparently this year, there are a lot of annoying stans who are always hyping and setting our girl up, which only makes us look delusional. It’s embarrassing. Please, just leave Wolfali and Victor alone. They’re great people!

But as fans, we also need to stop setting her up during these discussions. Otherwise, some users will come for her and continue the dragging, and it will always be the same mess every time her name shows up in this forum. Objectively speaking, looking at the current scenario in the Emmy race, she has a good chance of getting a nod (which I’m rooting for so badly), but she is far from being competitive enough to win, period.

I’m thoroughly enjoying Shrinking so far… even though i can see why people were saying that he’s the weakest performance in the show.
What y’all think?

Selena is a competitive contender, period. She has a quite compelling narrative working in her favor and is also undeniably the most famous name among these comedy actresses. It’s natural that she would be highly ranked in the prediction center and on many people’s lists, no need for drags if you don’t agree with that placement…
Regarding the selenators here… Well, at least we’re reasonable and know our place. Just wait for the arrival of the arianators and harry styles/dua lipa fans on the film side, and you’ll see the presumption and delusion.
I just hope that this forum doesn’t become a chaotic mess like stan twitter.

Now that the great is indeed making eligibility, i think Fanning is VERY likely to happen (almost a lock), as for hacks being out of the board… Selena has increased her chances quite a lot (rooting for her), Cardellini is her biggest threat in my opinion (although i still think that dead to me doesn’t have the strength to get its two leads in). At the end, it’ll all come down on how their campaigns are going to be structured. And what about the lead actor race guys? I mean, five are locks, but who do y’all are predicting for that last spot?
