What’s selfish about it? Maybe they liked Spielberg’s directing more than Campion’s. It’d be boring if we all wanted the same people to win. Also upsets make the Oscars more interesting and less predictable.

Honestly if they want a resurgence in ratings, they should beg Ricky Gervais to do it and pay him whatever he asks for. He’s not only hilarious but a lot of people who don’t typically watch or care for the Oscars would definitely tune in just for him.

Henry Cavill is a bad actor. I love him as a person and think he’s one of the most gorgeous humans ever but i’ve never found him to be a convincing actor. Sorry. Also heard he may be the next Bond and as much as he has the looks and charisma for the role, his lack of acting chops has me wishing the role goes to another actor.
