Sorry, this has absolutely nothing to do with this year but can someone explain how Get Out made it like their campaign and everything? This makes it sound like I doubted it but I’m really interested to know. Did it only go to Sundance?June 20, 2021 at 7:46 am #1204309714
Gymnasts biopic to be exact. The one who won the Gold for US at 1996 Olympic. Dont need to apologize at all Production is expected to start at the beginning of 2022 and currently is in Pre Production (according to IMDB/IMDB Pro) yet since DWD is delayed i wonder whether Wilde require more time to finish the Post Production of DWD so its not ready yet for this year (or they want to avoid competition with other “genre” movie this year, IDK). So its possible that Wilde took a lot of time for post production Its also possible that Searchlight will release it for 2023 (2024 awards season) since they already have Saoirse Ronan and Emma Stone to campaign for next year (and possibly Anya Taylor Joy as well)
One of my earlier posts is contradictory to what I’m about to say because I was wishfully thinking but some people found some of the crew’s wrapping posts and it seems that it’s always been a 2022 release, most posts were like “can’t wait to see this on the big screen next year” and filming finished in 2021.
The second movie is a biopic that seems like something that may work for awards season if it’s done right. However, the gymnast in question isn’t very critical of the US gymnastics system while her teammates and many gymnasts are so I don’t know how that’ll be done.June 12, 2021 at 2:54 pm #1204298256
Does ITH box office matter because of the type of film it is and how accessible it is to everyone? It’s not very artsy or technically so I’m guessing that’s why BO matter. Assuming Last Night In Soho was released now and didn’t do well in the box office, I don’t think people will take it off prediction lists.June 11, 2021 at 3:12 am #1204296118
And on top that she doesn’t have proof whatsoever of ANY of the claims she’s making and abusing the fact that he doesn’t have social media to defend himself.
It’s not a troll. I can’t find the article to link but just search up Benedict Cumberbatch The Atlantic. He has a bunch of conspiracy theories about his wife and his kids.June 8, 2021 at 4:13 pm #1204292222
I never expected much from Don’t Worry Darling tbh. Dune or In the Heights will be the WB nominee then. If Dune lives up to the hype and gets positive word of mouth in Venice, I think it’ll be their contender. I’m still not sure about In the Heights.
I’m not really sure where to place In the Heights. Has anyone watched the first 8 minutes of it that was released earlier?June 8, 2021 at 11:51 am #1204291819
Don’t Worry Darling is going to be a contender in any year like Hereditary was. And Batman is also not happening. Not every superhero movie is going to hit the sweet spot.
Do you not see it pulling a Dark Knight? Batman isn’t very superhero-y like in terms of it involving outer space and aliens.June 8, 2021 at 11:46 am #1204291803
Seems like Elvis, Don’t Worry Darling and the Batman are Warner’s possible contenders for next year then.June 4, 2021 at 8:13 am #1204286212
I haven’t seen A Quiet Place 2, but folks have been saying great things about it. I just hope this one gets more nominations than the first one. I still don’t see them going the way of Emily Blunt though….sadly, they don’t care when it comes to the ever excellent Blunt
I saw it last night and it was excellent but if they are campaigning for acting awards I think they’d go with Millicent Simmonds (Emily’s daughter in the movie) I think it being a sequel also hurts its chances.June 4, 2021 at 8:05 am #1204286200
Does anyone have an idea of what Warner Bros is going to do? They seem to have a lot of films and a lot seem like *possible* contenders.June 1, 2021 at 2:34 pm #1204282370
Is this going to be one of those movies that if the backlash increases then the actors will ignore it and apologize for working with him in a few years? It’s already in post-production, no? So to late to drop out and all that. It also looks like it has potential so I don’t see any of the cast denouncing it if the backlash increases.May 23, 2021 at 4:59 pm #1204268019
I think Olivia Wilde is about to start her roll out for DWD. Some of the things that leaked from set earlier on have started to be copyrighted on Twitter and I don’t know how much this means but the cast list got updates on imdb, they’ve put more character names up and Jennifer Lame is the editor.
