I’m not confident in Skarsgård at all, because I believe Ben Whishaw will ultimately get this. So I could totally see Chernobyl winning Actor and Writing. Also, I see When They See Us as the The Normal Heart of the year, despite its above-the-line performance it is going to win the big one no matter what because of its topic and the importance of it and how it resonated with the American society, even to this day, and the Trump factor. It’ll be hard not to reward it Limited Series, even without a single other win during Sunday’s telecast.
I bet many voters are freaking tired of seeing Trump or hearing about him in everything and everywhere at this point. As am I.September 17, 2019 at 12:19 pm #1203082746
Also to favor a show over other contenders because of affection to a person that used to write there but not anymore is… absurd
He obviously liked season 2 Phoebe involved or not and he also said that Comer’s performance is the main reason he’s watching “ I watch for Jodie Comer”.September 16, 2019 at 4:27 am #1203079698

Also where’s the notion that Harriet is doing terribly? The critics are not raving it, but they are also not so severely criticising it, enough that can block Erivo out of a nomination. I think she’s fine. Based on the films having been premiered, Zellweger, Johansson and Erivo seem nomination-locked to me.

I don’t think critics will bury Harriet. I know it’s still early but it’s doing really well on RT.September 10, 2019 at 3:15 pm #1203068221
I too wish there was more discussion about this movie because it leaves you with so many questions. Kelvin Harrison was amazing and downright scary in it.
So talented. His performance is subtle and layered letting you see just glimpses of deviancy.September 9, 2019 at 5:00 pm #1203066533
<p style=”text-align: left;”> </p> Nobody thought a movie with Hitler as a child’s imaginary friend could flop? Well…
I didn’t say nobody was expecting this to flop but that nobody was expecting this to flop so hard. The initial response to it was positive and almost everyone had it in their BP predictions.September 9, 2019 at 2:45 pm #1203066206
this comparison is ridiculous. Jojo Rabbit isn’t about one of the most beloved pop culture icons in history, nor is it going to make 900 million at the box office.
Thank you. BR is the highest-grossing music biopic of all time. Comparing Jojo Rabbit to it is foolish.
