Huns, today there will be so many meltdowns if Yeoh doesn’t win, hopefully she wins so we can go back to winning Oscars due to merit and performance next year.
Agree, because these many of people in Twitter and this posts, Academy feels under pressure yo please them and not feel baf for going for Blanchett and regret it later.
ReplyMarch 11, 2023 at 7:59 pm #1205343465Never thought Cate Blanchett pseudofans could be so toxic.
Well, well, well, who is here? the EEAAO number one fan.
March 11, 2023 at 6:08 pm #1205343387YEOH IS ASIAN, THIS PARTICULAR RACE IS BEST ACTRESS, SO SHE IS WINNING, END OF THE STORY. SORRY FOR CATE, BUT POLITICS FIRST.
March 11, 2023 at 5:28 pm #1205343364There is no way the Academy is giving 2 acting Oscars feeling SENTIMENTAL and not give the Oscar for BEST WORK two times in one ceremony. Either is Yeoh, or either is Curtis, but not both.
ReplyMarch 11, 2023 at 2:51 pm #1205343190If the white actor wins, it’s about performance only, and if the Asian actor wins its only because of external forces? Got it.
In this particular case it is, sad to say, but is, Blanchett got BAFTA, GG and CC, proving that her performance is better. But in the other years, people of color who won were so deserved.
This year is so controversial, and this case is very PARTICULAR.March 11, 2023 at 2:40 pm #1205343164I feel so sure about Yeoh winning that it scares me how sure I am.
Tomorrow is gonna be the last day in one of the most exciting races in a very long time, I’m rooting for Cate but if Everything wins big and Yeoh doesn’t come with them, it’d be the Academy truly saying “no matter how you get everything in your favor, POC women can’t win here” and it pains me to no end thinking that’s the outcome.
If Cate wins, it´s because her performance is better, and that´s it. If Yeoh wins, is sad to say this, but is because so much pressure behind her.
This year we had a lot of diversity in the nominees, so I trust that the winners are based on best performances not on diversity.March 11, 2023 at 11:51 am #1205342995Those Cinematography and Editing nominations prove that there is more support from TAR that we imagined, but the pressure under no woman of color won an Oscar since 2002 is TOO MUCH, Yeoh is taking this, very undeserving by the way. She gave a great performance, the problem is that Cate and Yeoh performances are on two different levels.
IT IS WHAT IT IS.March 10, 2023 at 9:01 pm #1205342350This is useless since you are mixing lead and supporting my guy.
BAFTA got Helena Bonham Carter, Jennifer Lawrence, Rachel Weisz, Kate Winslet ALL WRONG in the 2010s. How TF are they accurate? lol SAG is notoriously accurate at predicting this category. Stop bringing up tight races in other categories too. JLC is in the OSCAR BP Frontrunner. The only person SAG got wrong last decade was literally Emily Blunt who wasn’t nominated. So how are you going to go against JLC? Let’s see 4 wrong for BAFTA in the last decade vs. 1 wrong in SAG. Really? make it make sense!
I agree my friend, but let´s analyze those:
-When Bonham Carter won BAFTA, Melissa Leo won SAG, GG and CC.
-When Rachel Weisz won BAFTA, Regina King wasn´t nominated neither SAG and neither BAFTA.
-When Kate Winslet won BAFTA, Vikander won SAG and CC, and wasn´t nominated in Supporting at Globes, neither at BAFTA.
-When Lawrence won BAFTA, no discussion about that, maybe that previous year Lawrence won Oscar, but Nyong’o gave a better performance. But Nyong’o has SAG and CC.This year, Bassett won GG and CC, Curtis won SAG and Condon BAFTA. Usually in this kind of situations, BAFTA decide this.
ReplyMarch 10, 2023 at 1:48 pm #1205342008BAFTA & SAG will go 2/4 each: Condon & Austin from BAFTA & Yeoh & Ke from SAG
I agree.
March 10, 2023 at 1:30 pm #1205341975Condon isn’t going to win.
Lol
BAFTA WRONG IN A TIGHT RACE:
Blanchett (GG, CC, BAFTA)
Gyllenhaal (Just BAFTA)
Lawrence (GG, BAFTA)
Rourke (GG,BAFTA)BAFTA RIGHT IN A TIGHT RACE:
Affleck (GG,CC,BAFTA)
Rylance (just BAFTA)
Arkin (just BAFTA)
McDormand (just BAFTA)
Swinton (just BAFTA)
Hopkins (just BAFTA)
Streep (GG,BAFTA)
Waltz (GG,BAFTA)
Colman (GG,BAFTA)
Kidman (GG,BAFTA)
Cotillard (GG,BAFTA)YEAH YEAH , SURE , CONDON ISN’T GOING TO WIN , I BELIEVE MORE IN STASTISTICS THAN IN EEAAO LOVERS NO SENSE REASONS.
ReplyMarch 10, 2023 at 12:42 am #1205341095I think academy voters will not give two acting Oscars feeling nostalgic and under pressure, so the Oscar that are giving so people are not complaining about racism is Best Actress, and they are not committing the same mistake in two categories, so in this one they will do the right thing and award the best performance, not the legends or veterans that are campaigning and trying to get attention so hard.
SO, ENJOY THE SHOW, BE HAPPY THAT THE UNDESERVING YEOH IS WINNING ON SUNDAY, AND ACCEPT CONDON´S INEVITABLE VICTORY, MY DEAR EEAAO LOVERS.

I hope you´re right.
ReplyMarch 9, 2023 at 12:53 pm #1205340301BERRY PRESENTING THIS SUNDAY, WHAT A COINCIDENCE, THE FIRST WOMAN OF COLOR TO WIN BEST ACTRESS. WHAT A COINCIDENCE? I´M WONDERING WHAT OSCAR IS SHE PRESENTING?
ReplyMarch 9, 2023 at 12:51 pm #1205340292If Berry presents Actress is very clear Yeoh is winning, the last time color actress presenting Best Actress this year. WHAT A COINCIDENCE if that happens.
