Ahhh, Yalitza.. that would’ve been amazing. Such a pity her carrer didn’t take off after her Oscar nomination.

ReplyJune 15, 2022 at 9:57 am #1204984213Margot looks so good as Barbie while Ryan looks like that. I mean wtf. If the movie is gonna be some satire it will work out, but otherwise..

And that’s why would be iconic if she actually wins. However, I switched back to Chastain. It feels too good to actually become true. Fingers crossed for Penélope and to those who have the guts to predict her!
ReplyMarch 25, 2022 at 3:37 pm #1204876180As I promised (*international voter ; I haven’t written in detail, just some thoughts.)
Best Picture – Drive My Car is without a doubt the best in this category. It’s a rare journey and it’s a loss if you can’t appreciate it.
*I shared with my auntie what the anonymous asshole said about foreign movies and how they shouldn’t be in the main category. ‘He is just bitter because we make better movies than them.’, she answered.
Best Director – Ryusuke Hamaguchi ; No, Champion’s CC speech didn’t affect her vote, she never intended to vote for her anyway.
Best Actress
Both biopics starring Nicole&Jessica were of no interest to her. She watched those movies only because she had to as she wanted to be fair in her voting. Princess Diana is something else. And even though Kristen surprised her, she she never truly disappeared into her character.
Here come the mommies. My auntie is a fan of Olivia as I mentioned last season and follow her career closely. Olivia did a great job with the material she was given, but she didn’t see any development in her character, not her fault, of course. The movie ended, and she was like ‘Really? That was it?’
Nowadays movies are mostly made for money&awards. But you still get the chance to watch something and remember what actually movies were supposed to be about. To make you feel, to touch you. That’s exactly what Penélope Cruz did with her performance. And she did it brilliantly! With all due respect to the other ladies, no one of them come even close to what señora Cruz achieved.
Best Actor – TPOD didn’t meet her expectations but one thing you can’t deny is how bloody good Benedict was.
Best Supporting Actress – It’s hard to act among one of the best but Jessie Buckley not only succeed, she surpassed the older Leda.
Best Supporting Actor – Troy Kotsur is the best thing in that feel-good movie.
Best Adapted Screenplay – Drive My Car. You expected that, right?
Best Original Screenplay – Parallel Mothers should have been here. Good luck to The Worst Person in the World.
Best Cinematography – The Tragedy of Macbeth
Best Costume Design – Cyrano
Best Film Editing – Dune
Best Makeup and Hairstyling – Dune
Best Production Design – Nightmare Alley
Best Score – Parallel Mothers
Best Song – Such a boring choices. She didn’t love any of the songs but liked quite enough Dos Oruguitas to vote for it.
Best Sound & Best Visual Effects – Dune
Best International Film – DMC is going to win this category without her vote anyway. So why not show some support to a small movie from a small country? Plus, Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom is simply beautiful.
Best Animated Feature – The Mitchells vs the Machines
Best Documentary Feature – Flee
Best Animated Short – Bestia
Best Documentary Short – The Queen of Basketball
Best Live Action Short – AlaKachuu: Take and Run

March 20, 2022 at 3:58 pm #1204862409So, Rachel doesn’t have an invitation, but Ansel has gotten one or at least that’s what people are claiming on twitter. If it’s true, that’s pretty low. Keep embarasing yourself, Academy!
March 18, 2022 at 11:51 am #1204858018If I get my aunt’s permission again, I will let you know who she voted for after she submits her vote.
