My guess is the Autumn. I agree that it will probably do better next time round. The fact it was nominated at SAG (in spite of its own limitations in terms of traditional SAG appeal) over Emmy players from the previous season and did so well in nominations at WGA tells me that with a better release date and more hype (which it does have thanks to it having found its audience) that it could be a major contender next time round.
I agree! I absolutely loved the first season. It reminded me of why I loved Veep so much, so I hope it gets more. Its solid nominations at the Globes, WGA, SAG, etc bode well for its future for sure.June 19, 2021 at 8:07 am #1204308506
When do we think “The Great” S2 will come out? It had a bad release date last year but still managed to get in Writing and Directing. I think if the second season is good, it could build some momentum to get across the board noms.June 18, 2021 at 2:39 pm #1204307650
Finally got access to the performer’s page and am laughing at WV submitting literally every character with a speaking role… even the young actors who played Billy/Tommy lmaoo
Does it help a show to submit that many people? Seems like oversaturating the submissions list would be a net negative rather than a net positive….June 2, 2021 at 5:01 pm #1204284072
Catching up with Mare, and I see that Ep. 6 is Winslet’s submission episode lol
Just a killer performance here, every scene is wonderful.
(if they still even do it like that, I’m not up to date on the submission rules)May 31, 2021 at 4:10 pm #1204280851
Is WandaVision’s best Writing submission ep 8?
In general, for its chances, I definitely think it could miss Writing but end up in Directing.May 27, 2021 at 5:30 pm #1204275777
Just finished “The Leftovers”, and I was utterly shocked at how the show only got 1 Emmy nom in totality. While it was relatively esoteric, it was really creative and brilliant throughout its run. It deserved at least Writing noms. Great, mind-f of a show lolMay 27, 2021 at 10:54 am #1204275182
Nielsen has published its ratings report on streaming for the week of April 26-May 2 and has THT beating Falcon and doing almost as much as Netflix’s hit Shadow and bone
FATWS was done by this point so it makes sense that newer shows would be higherMay 25, 2021 at 8:15 pm #1204272816
I would be a little upset if Hamilton got any acting noms (LOjr), and took a spot from say, Paul Bettany. While LOjr gives an incredible performance, he’s been awarded enough for that role, and it’d be nice to see a veteran like Paul Bettany get some industry recognition.
It looks like some minor campaigning is happening for WandaVision though, and I’d think Disney would prefer WV getting in before Hamilton.May 23, 2021 at 2:31 pm #1204267891
I could see a handful of populist movies making it in Best Picture. Remember, the ratings were HORRIBLE the last two years bc no one cared about the movies. Nominating a couple of popular (and great) movies will bring massive interest to the ceremony. Not saying it’ll be all popular movies nominated but I’m most confident about the following making some sort of noise
– In the Heights (great reviews, likely to be successful)
– Eternals (hype, good date, Marvel so it will be successful)
– West Side Story (good date, could be a hit)
*just a feeling I have no idea how it will turn out.May 20, 2021 at 3:34 pm #1204263790
Salma Hayek really hypes up Gaga here….
I’m just so curious to start hearing more about this film tbh
